With the new upgrades coming with the Xbox One (and after seeing Project Spark), do you think it is possible for a forge mode that allows you to create your own Firefight/ Spartan Ops maps?
Would you like this feature to be included in the next Halo game?
As much as I would love a Forge support for Firefight, it would be extremely complicated to use and implement.
[/li]- The first part of making a map with AI’s on it, the AI must first be programmed to it. This is commonly done through a tool known as Navmesh.
What the Navmesh does, is that it lays down the pathways and boundaries in which the AI can move and travel. It basically tells the AI where the map is and the map’s shape.
The problem with Navmeshes in Forge is that it would be next to impossible to create a UI for it, and you will find that it is an EXTREMELY tedious task.
(Imagine having to blanket an entire city in thin strands of yellow tape. This includes the streets, the walls, the rooms, the insides of the rooms, pretty much every piece of matter in existence.)
After Navmeshing, you would also have to establish the way that the AI uses each part of the Map.
You would have to set where the AI would take cover when shot, what path it would take while approaching the player, where it would retreat to, how it would react to the environment, and much, much more…- Firefight Forging would end up as a long and tedious task that isn’t really worth the rage and broken TV… But one can always dream…
I doubt that will happen, OP. I think the only thing we will probably change are the settings in Firefight. Hopefully, in SpOps, we can edit some settings, specifically, Skulls.
