Forge delay good for map makers

December
That gives us anywhere between one and two months to learn how the game plays and how to adjust to these changes and understand how they will come to affect our maps that we make.

As much as I really wanted to hop on Forge as soon as I completed campaign it would be better for me to play the game until i have a true feel for it before i start and sit down saying “Alright lets make this really awesome map idea” then finish with it and realise it doesnt work with the gameplay.

I dislike how fans typically react to this kind of news. Thoughts?

It also presumably means it won’t be rushed and full of bugs and glitches. This isn’t a bad thing.

That won’t be an issue, since you can disable Sprint and Spartan Abilities in custom games.

Yes, but as far as taking the map and eventually having it in matchmaking would go out the window once a map is made without SAs I’m mind.

OP I agree with you.

Not in the slightest.

Turning off print and abilities to play like former titles may still take a little alteration if you are trying to do a 1 to 1 remake of an older map. The movement speeds and jump heights are a factor here. However, you’re not wrong about changing the settings in the custom game to work with the map. But to be useable in matchmaking is another story.

I am really interested to see how objects move using scripting. Will they actually move or suddenly teleport into place? This helps make maps interesting tremendously.

Even though covenant themed props have not been shown, I believe it will finally be possible to pull of human, forerunner, and covenant with this new set and color options. Curvy props are a must for covie maps. Making those props reddish-purple just makes it so much easier.

I look forward to making some intricate forerunner designs and moving parts. Hopefully lightbridges can be a thing or easily faked

Good point dude!

Not to mention we have plenty of content to keep us busy in two months I see no big deal with this delay in fact i’m happier that it has been delayed!

Agreed. Not a bad thing at all imo

Agreed I’m happy to know that they rather have a completed forge than rush it out the gate, very excited

agreed. it will be worth the wait!

Halo 5 and Fallout 4 will be filling my time o3o I’m so excited

Halo is one of those games where myself and others feel like we waited 3 years for the game to come out and it is ok to wait a few extra months just so content isn’t cutout completely.

Some of us wished halo 2 was released later for the forerunner tank level idea.
Several of us wished halo reach was released later for campaign cinematics to be smoother.
Several of us wished halo 4 was released later for a variety of campaign reasons.
Most of us wished mcc was released later for stability.

I’ve always preferred that a core game be made and released on time polished and perfect and that the extra stuff be released later. It’s less stressing on the devs and ends up with a better final product. Good to see 343I doing this.

Yes but entire sections of the game couldn’t be added via patch either (besides MCC). It may be the new standard for more content even with strict deadlines.

I’m sure a month or two of polish won’t hurt forge’s release.

If they can add forge post launch, I wonder what else they can add. Firefight possibly? With enough community feedback it seems possible.

Forge Blueprint

I’ve already started dreaming of possibilities

A month or so of extra polish and real feedback from the game environment, and any bugs found at launch already being fixed and stabilized when Forge launches?
It’ll be a hell of a lot better than if it was at launch, at the very least.

Agreed. It also gives me time to fully enjoy the other game modes first. Although I would like a simple explanation as to why it isn’t releasing with the game. (Not complaining, honestly just curious)

because it is not fully polished and ready?
