FORGE / Custom Game "SUGGESTIONS"

These are some things I think should really be added into “FORGE / CUSTOME GAMES”.

List some things you think I have missed here

  1. What would ya like seeing in it that can bring some excitement back to HALO INFINITE FORGE?
    a) Scriptable AI or Editable / Programable AI fuctions and behavior.
    b) Waterfalls that can be edited for any look and feel to the map. (Modifiable color, Damage Poperty if added, Damage Value, ajustable flow speed, and opaqueness.)
    c) Liquid Volumes - Voulme that can be any type of liquid you choose to put on your map that you can modify. (Modifiable color, Damage Poperty if added, Damage Value, ajustable flow speed, and opaqueness.)
    d) Useable Jackal Shields, The Flood usable in forge and custom games, Playable (Covenant, Brute, Flood, and Forunners) for custom games, A game mode that put you into player created maps, Jet pack and other equipment.
    e) A in-depth forge tutorial & Forge Scripting Tutorial added with in the game.

  2. What isn’t in the game that should be in the Forge that can be used with in custom games?
    a) All weapons from past Halo Series games; Including “Halo Wars”. Including (Flamethrower, Flame Grenades, Misslepod, Brute Shot, Mauler, Beam Rifle, Carbine, and FuelRod Gun. To name a few.)
    b) All vehicles from past Halo Series games; Including “Halo Wars”. Including (ALSO ALL DRIVEABLE) (Shadow “H2”, Spectre “H2”, Hornet “H3”, Prowler “H3”, Falcon “REACH”, Mantis “H5”, Cobra “Halo Wars”, Wolverine “Halo Wars”, Sparrowhawk “Halo Wars”, Pelican “Any”, Elephant “H3”, Broadsword “H4”, Sabre “Reach”, Electric Cart “Reach”, Spade Pickup “Reach”, Cab Truck with Trailer “Reach”, Forklift “Reach”, Oni Van “Reach”, Phantom “Any”, Locust “Halo Wars”, Wraith (Anti-Air) “Reach”, Seraph “Reach”, And much as you can put into the game including Halo Wars.
    c) More equipment Regen (Health / Armor), Jet Pack, and Armor Lock.
    d) Other: Fuel Rod Shade Turret, Ladders, and Ziplines.

3.UI, FX, Object that you think should be added into forge?

  • UI
    a) Customizable Cam view or Character. (Example: 3rd person mode)
    b) Custom Huds and Hud effects and visor shapes.
    c) Programable AI.

    b) Floor Spore
    c) Rain, Lightning, Hail, Ash, Snow, Leaves, Bugs, Dust, and Trash.
  • Objects
    a) Animal AI (Simple)(Example: Head moving or simple movement)

    c) Flood AI (Simple) (Example: Simple roaming or slight movements)
    d) Flood AI (Realistic)
    e) Any other Halo Universe AI (simple & realistic)
    f) Ladders / monkey bars
    g) Ziplines
    h) Cam and Visual Control pannel.
    i) Liquid Volumes. (Water, Lava, Acid, sludge or customizable liquid with damage & color sliders.)
    j) waterfalls (customaizable color and damage sliders and flow speed.)
    k) *** 2d background senery. (Simple flat object you can place in background that is simi-detailed to add realism to a map.) ***
  1. Any improvements such things to add to game play or mechanics?
    a) Adding ladders to climb & a monkey bar type way to cross gaps.
    b) Adding Ziplines
    c) Dual welding back into the game. Maybe equipment that allows you to duel weld.
    d) Playable Covenant (not just elites. Also Drones and Skimmers), Brutes, Forrunner, and Flood (All variants).
    e) Custom Gun Editor. Adding different parts and selecting a fire type, color of weapon and rounds, a slider to adjust damage, and able to add effects (Example: Stun Effect, Locking Armor effect, Burn effect, blinding effect, and so on.)
    f) Custom Vehicle Creator - Add different movement types (Legs, Wheels, Tracks, Hover, Jets, Proppelers, and more) Color options, running sound editor with sliders, weapons and more.
    g) Custom “senario & game” eidtor.
    h) Forge Tutorial & Scriping Tutorial in game.
    i) Custom Visor hud layouts & effects.
    j) Customizable Camera View for your character.

  2. Any custom game modes that will compliment forging?
    a) Firefight
    b) Warzone
    c) Assault (All Variants)
    d) Juggernaught
    e) All game modes from past Halo Series games.
    f) Flood Apocalypse - Like a zombie mode fighting off waves of Flood coming into the map at selct points. (Idea: Maybe a place able object like tunnel or door or window they can come out of into the map.)

  3. Any other option you can think of for Forge / Custom Game?
    a) As before (Weapons & Vehicles) Creator.
    b) Senario Eidtor / creator for a story based mode.
    c) Undo / Re-undo button.
    d) Able to turn on invincibility. Including not able to take damage when outside of map or in kill ball or other damaging object.

What do you think Should be in FORGE / CUSTOM GAME, or another idea that should come to “Halo Infinite”?

If anything, a big budget or no budget. It will allow players to build massive scale things that are detailed that originally people couldn’t make in halo 5. In halo 5, big builds didn’t have much detail, but smaller things had a huge amount of detail. I would love to see large scale things with massive details. I was a really good forger in halo 5 and have me and my friends a few times have applied to get maps in the pvp of halo 5(they accepted) but since it was my friend to get the maps applied and accepted he got the pig helmet, (a helmet I don’t care for) but non the less it felt good to build maps. But since I haven’t been on halo 5 in such a long time I have pretty much forgotten everything, wanna bet once I get back to forge I’ll be like a toddler learning blocks lmao :rofl: :rofl::rofl:

Another cool thing is if people could apply files to the in-game sound affects (Aka add songs from irl or anything of the sort) another thing is if you add multiple music files to one and create basically a radio! That would be awesome! The other cool thing is when people join game they’ll hear music too while they play. My fav songs that I wish I could add so me and the boys could vibe while forging is-

My other suggestion is adding banished and unsc AI you could set teams on their spawns and stuff as well, I think it would be cool if you could assign them locations to go and stay to “guard” or to set them on patrol where they just wander the entire map until they find contact. With that function, once shots are fired, any bot set to patrol mode will run over to that location to assist, but bots on guard mode stay at their posts, I think it would be a a really chaotic ctf game, gotta you need to raid the base with guarding bots and such, but you also gotta make it quick because now you’ve been heard and reinforcements are coming. The other thing I think would be cool is an (assign platoon) function, where certain ai will stick together

Say -squad 1 assigned 4 grunts, 2 elites, and one skirmisher.

Then those assigned units will stick together, even if in guard or patrol mode. The squad will still be on whatever team you set them. But they won’t interfere with the rest of the bots who you have not assigned anything to regarding the team they’re on, meaning no other friendly bots will join their squad.

The other piece of functionality is that during forge, the ai needs to register items being placed, so they aren’t walking into a wall or anything else. They’ll know it’s a wall and try to find a way over, around, through, or under said wall. I especially if they detected an enemy combatant. That function will also translate to custom games, they’ll still know the object is there, the other function is the kill zones that prevent players from crossing, the bots will avoid as well. So you can keep them in certain places too, they’ll recognize a fall to their death, an invisible wall, a kill wall, or anything of that sort.

And like I stated “they’ll hear shots fired and move to that position” say if here are multiple engagements going on, they can chose what engagement they wanna go. But once they’re engaged they are going to ignore any other engagements on the map besides the one they’re partaking in, unless the enemy is visible.

Another function is individual difficulty, take 2 ai for example, you can take one bot and set them to legendary, then take the 2nd bot and set them to normal. The setting won’t effect weapon dps or shields for that bot, it simply effects the efficiency and accuracy of the ai. I think it would be cool to do that because it’ll make players adapt to engagements, say the first squad they come in contact with are set to normal, it’ll be easy to kill, but then, a group of elites using active cam holding swords hear the shootout and come in, but the other problem is those elites are set to legendary, the players will have to adapt their combat to survive that attack and kill the group before it’s over for them.

I’m all about the scripting.

In H5 we could only act on the victim in a kill. Hopefully in Infinite we will have access to much more information; the killer, weapon, distance, etc.

Add in the ability to force team and weapon changes… and voila… pretty much any game type you want.

I’m really keen to script some handicapping games so that our custom group can all compete on the same game (ranging from Silver to Onyx).

I just really hope the open up the Halo Universe of Items to us. Like have much available all guns and vehicles and a big jump up in the forge from Halo 5 and more simple instead of always having to build things form scratch.

This suppose to be the next best Halo, I want to see that with the forge too. Give the PLAYERS everything in past halo’s and more.

Try to give us SIMPLE AI, And liquid volumes too, Paired with all past halo weapons and vehicle & bigger budget and a XBOX SERIES X/S advancement.

Xbox Series X/S halo players should have bigger budget and also more options.
----Add option to “SELECT” at the start Xbox One or Xbox Series version forge map. ----
No reason to punish people that have “XBOX Series” just because others only have XBOX ONE’s. We should have options to push the forge to the limit if we want.

Like Xbox One is past and Xbox Series is the future. So why keep living in the past or forcing people that have a Series Console to live in the Xbox One days.

Ye, I agree with all of that!

A massive! MASSSIVE map. Like 8 large maps stitched together. IDC about the load time just literally give a ring segments of open world with terrain editing, everything listed above and I can churn out stores and world’s to play in for years to come.

And on the aspect of playability honestly, one day all the races. And by that I mean there’s no reason a slayer mayhem mode couldn’t allow players to use; Spartans, Elites, Brutes, Hunters, jackals and skirmisher, grunt and Endless/ promethean soldier unit.

All items listed within really done need extensive customization, just literally what you see in the games (all games)

And watch the maps go nuts.

Oh, and game mode mixing. Earn steady score points by holding an odd all and taking hills. Imagine that same mode FFA with All races enabled. It’d be a riot.

So… Yeah, massive maps, all weapons and vehicles like mentioned above.

Dude that would be awesome!!! Just ultimate chaos!

But if they where to do a map segment like that with chunks of the ring, they need to have biomes. Winter, jungle, tundra, ocean/beach, desert, swamps, urban, etc. it would be a large scale war zone! An arma type deal. Have two teams but each team has 3 squads of 4 players. Squad alpha, bravo, and Charlie. It would be a cool arma type deal. Not to mention the ai fighting one another but being assigned to each team of just randomized species!

And the part where ffa and ai. Bro, I agree! that would be a riot. Have a full lobby of 28 Spartans and constant spawn of ffa ai that will fight each other too! Then build a city type map with destroyed buildings, cars, etc. and the map skybox set to the dead or night, with lit fires everywhere, bodies, and just straight up chaos! Another idea is if people built the inside of a large scale ship with tight corridors while all that is going down lol!

The ability to setup racing/ lapping would be fun. Warthog / mongoose racing? (I haven’t played in 10years maybe it has already been possible?!)

OP has really good suggestions that i didn’t even think to mention. these are all very detailed ideas and i agree with their input to infinite forge.

the topic of bots/ai in forged custom gametypes is an important and daunting challenge. if executed properly, it will be well worth the wait for forge.

it is daunting because expectations are so high that custom game and in-forge bots will perform as forgers imagine they will in game. we imagine if we construct a set of different objectives in a community-made map, that bots will naturally play the role as attackers or defenders when active objectives appear, and previous objectives are deactivated. programmatically, this is likely a seemingly insurmountable challenge. to add to challenges for the teams at 343, forgers want to be able to implement naturally intuitive bots into their custom made maps with little effort behind the scenes scripting nitty gritty boolean.

i am hopeful when forging a map, that one of the objects i will be able to place is a bot respawn point. i suppose i would be able to modify properties of the type of bot that would be spawned by the spawn point. perhaps one of the properties would be being able to set objective 1, objective 2 and objective 3 for the bot spawned by the respawn point. naturally, the bot would gravitate toward a placed volume labeled objective 1. within this volume, commonly used custom gametype objectives like flag spawn, or assault balls, or strongholds, or hill captures would work as an objective.

the bots should just know that if their current objective is contained within the volume labeled objective 1, to move towards that objective. they should strive to pick up the assault bomb, and bring it to the arm-plant point. while doing this, they should try to kill/deter/repulsor enemy players (other bots, or human players, enemy vehicles etc) in their vicinity. then, if a script brain says objective 1 is no longer active, and objective 2 is now active, bots should naturally gravitate to the volume labeled objective 2, according to their skill level. for example, a legendary bot might use the grapple hook to get to the current objective volume faster than a recruit bot (who might become lost on the way!)

also some cool loading bars for arming stuff etc

and something about a priori vr a posteriori reasoning as it pertains to bots navigating custom maps

and some crunchable trees to run over with the scorpion

Oooooohh destroyable environment pieces would be amazing!

As far as bots go, I agree with the common misconceptions about how the general forger will not understand that the addition of bots will require a LOT of coding and determination on OUR SIDE as well. Sure they could build neat little AI packages but as you described the functionality and limitations of that Bot will be NO WHERE close to what a forger has in Mind.

I think that’s why they’re working on “fields”. Allowing us as the option to narrow, widen, and cicumferential (real word) the objective and movement brain of the bots.

Given the lack of word on firefight or anything of the kind it really wouldn’t surprise me they’re finally turning to the players for that as well.

U can pay forge subscription for the really good bots probably

Loading bars and custom gametype team waypoint objectives need to be fundamentally abstracted from the custom games menu so that the objectives and required hud elements are portable and compartmentalized for mix and matchable community forge mini gametypes that transfer to playable custom games. Does this make sense? Programmatically this is a tremendous challenge, i’m sure.

This is what i mean by is enough time allotted to sweeping game engine reevaluation to at least allow future game client updates to build towards this goal. Are we there yet or is this something to look forward to for halo infinite 2???

I’m hoping that we can attach script brains to a “game type” and not just the map. It’s really annoying that you have to manually add (potentially lots of) brains to each map you want to play that game type on.

Here is what I would like ( Need ) in Forge and Custom Games:

  1. We need to have our own Dedicated Server Software like we had
    in Halo Combat Evolved and Halo 2 and Halo Online.

  2. People that Admin/Host a game need to be able to do the following:
    A. Kick Morons
    B. Permanently Ban user’s for creating hate an discontent, Racists remarks,
    using cheats/hacks. As it is now you can only ban for 24 hours. Really??
    Like that is a good deterrent for morons in MCC and H.I. :rofl:
    C. Need To Shuffle The Team at the beginning of each game!!! to
    help keep teams even!!

  3. Need ban list.

  4. Send private message to users in game.

  5. Need map list rotation like 98% of all games have that allows you to
    Admin/host your own games.

  6. Need next map button in Pre-Game.

  7. Would be nice to have a Welcome screen and to show the rules of the server.

Just to name a few things needed.

REF: Forge

  1. Need to be able to remove all soft and kill barriers so we can put them where
    we want in stock maps.

  2. To have a UNDO, Copy, and Magnet Commands.

  3. To be able to save all custom maps and Custom Game mods on our own storage devices!

  4. Need lots of prefabs for buildings, scenery, and textures.

  5. Would like to see teleporters in Forge.

That is all I can think of at this time. I’m sure there is more.

Also need to make it so you can lock your maps and prefabs with a option to not let others edit your map only you so there not like 50 version of your map.
