Forge-Community Ideas(UPDATED)

Hey guys,

I have a couple ideas for forge (please remember these are generated around one map, not all of them… basically just a new forge world):

1: Take turrets off vehicles- Remember the glitch that did that in halo 3? We should have the option simply to take it off at our will in forge. This would greatly help machinmas and would make cool race variants.

2: More textures- Rather than having a whole bunch of blocks the same size with different textures (halo 3) why not just give us the ability to chnage textures?

3: Time Of Day (TOD)- We should be able to chnage the time of day for the maps, allowing for cool custom variants such as night time zombies.

4: Biome changes. We should be able to control the biome and the amount of precipitation on the map. This way we could make a snowy map, or a desert.

5: Vehicles- Every vehicle in the game (with of course the exception of cruisers etc.) should be in. That means pelicans, forklifts everything. This allows for great custom variants and machinmas.

6: Customizable gravity- We should be able to place something, such as a ‘hill’ that allows us to change the amount of gravity in any given area.

7: Larger pay- Try not to make forge world huge. Make it into seven different maps so that we may have a larger payout and amount of blocks. This would allow for greater maps and looks.

Community ideas:

-New Skyboxs (I assume editable)

-Attaching objects toghether

-Copy/Paste opjects (and attached objects so that one must only build half of a symmentrical map to be done)

-Forge Firefight maps

-Placeable Water

-Usable insertion pods (ODST/Elite)

-Interactive wheather(If wheather changing is confirmed, it should interact IE drops f rain on vior when raining.)

-Energy Bridges

-Ability to carve into scenery(excluding the ground of course) to create caves or passages through cliff, etc.

-Activatable objects (such as doors and bridges similar to halo 3s longshore bridge)

-Boats

-The ability to make a single or a group of objects move in a set patern (such as the spinning wheel on zanzibar

-Choose the objects a filter affects

  • Better coordinate system

If you’re going to have a Master Thread on Forge, wouldn’t it be best to make this when forge info is released and then get people to help update it?
Ideas 1, 3 and 5 i like. I really want vehicles from Halo Wars to be playable in Halo 4

Meh, theres not a lot to discuss so i thought i would give it a try… I’ll probably bring this back in a month or so when we get info from E3… Or whenever we get info.

Yeah, having those vehicles playable would be great! Of course, only in custom games as many (Dual canon scorpion for example) would be extremely overpowered.

C’mon guys! Does no one want to give some forge ideas?

Settings, new sky boxes, and atmosphere that changes, such as music and lighting.

Custom Objects that are made by “gluing” objects together and saving them, which can be uploaded to your fileshare. If someone made an awesome Frigate in Forge, you can download it6 and use it in your maps. Also, if a structure is a little bit off from what you expected, glue it and you can drag the whole thing around as opposed to doing things piece by piece. This is a golden idea, 343i should adopt it.

Personally I like the idea of another Forge World. However I would prefer it that instead they make multiple Forge Worlds, with a variety of objects and tools to use. All this without taking away from the other maps capabilities in Forge though.

I like your other ideas however. Awesome stuff.

I dont know…maybe some awsome scarab batlles would be fun…

The graphics are to pretty for that to work.

idk if you mentioned this but I’d like to see dynamic place-able water. It’d be sweet to have waterfalls and stuff in our maps, we could make our own authentic Beaver Creek.

More practical maps like Sandbox and not Forgeworld.

And at least some water-based vehicles.

oh and how bout drop pods…that would be fun too

how bout…im not sure of this but… weather interacting with the gameplay…example rain falling on visor creates drops on visor…

Good idea!..

  1. Allow players to save multiple objects together as a group so you can move them all simultaneously. That way if you decide that a structure you made is better suited for a different spot on the map you don’t have to completely rebuild it.

  2. A smooth feature that allows you to better make two objects look like they’re part of the same piece.

  3. Energy Bridges

  4. Larger map, maybe with support for bigger vehicles like the pelican

These are my thoughts.

ooh elevators…like the ones in halo 3 campaign or halo 2 campaign
edit: and halo 1 (last level)

oh and doors…(activatable) both sheild and solid

More activaed objects would be a great addition but they would have to add a CD so things would not get obnoxious.

maaaan…k…but im sure energy sheild doors would be easy
