Forge and Multiplayer Ideas
I’ve got a couple of ideas that I have been eager to share for this past week after reading stuff about the upcoming Forge. And these are just ideas that I myself would like to see in Halo Infinite. So here goes…
Spawning Enemy AI in Forge
After checking leaks about Forge getting Node Graph scripting support. I’ve been non-stop thinking about different gamemodes that you could make with this.
This Node Graph scripting in itself is already really awesome and opens a lot of possibilities to make any kind of gamemodes.
But this got me thinking… Would it be too far fetched to possibly spawn enemies to your map in Forge?
Imagine a gamemode where you could have a squad made out of elites that battle for you against another player with his elite squad. You technically could make a MOBA gamemode into Halo as well ;D.
Or even Pokemon where you spawn Grunts to fight each other XD.
You could also make classic Firefight and spawn enemies to certain positions in waves. This would open up even more ideas for gamemode and map makers.
This of course poses a problem that the enemies probably don’t know how to navigate the areas, but this could be tackled by adding a tool into Forge, which allows map makers to set up paths where the enemy AI could traverse.
And this navigation tool might already be getting added since custom games can have bots (Spartan AI) so technically shouldn’t Forge have this option too? But this is just speculation.
Sidenote: If spawning enemies outside of Campaign is concerning then gamemodes that involve spawning enemy AI (were it Elites, Jackals or Grunts). These could be locked to people who have bought the game.
This way there would be more incentive to buy the campaign to be able to play custom gamemodes that use the enemies from it.
Scarab as a controllable vehicle
You guys remember Elephant from Halo 3’s Sandtrap map? That’s one of the vehicles I hope they will add to the game so you could move stuff around. But imagine if you could have Scarab in multiplayer, which you could control around the map and climb all over the place.
This could also be its very own gamemode in BTB where everyone spawns on top of their Scarab and your objective would be to take down the enemy Scarab down while protecting your own to win.
Final Thoughts
These ideas could then be mixed together. You could have elites invade the map while trying to battle another enemy team >:D. Or a gamemode where teams compete to be the first to take down the Scarab from within, while Elites try to stop both teams from winning.
These are some whacky ideas I got and I believe there could be a chance for this to get implemented as part of Forge. But this is way into the future of Halo Infinite.
And speaking of controllable vehicles. I do believe they will add more of them + weapons into the game later on. So possibly controllable Phantoms or Pelicans to transport multiple people around bigger maps?
