Remember “Screenshot Spotlight” well that should totally come back.
But you know what else would be an awesome idea? Something similar. But with Forge.
So let’s say the community is given a set amount of time to forge some Breakout maps, submit them via tagged in the fileshare, then one or two will be chosen as the winners, and for a determined amount of time, they’ll be inserted into the map rotation in matchmaking for all to play.
Now I see how that could be risky, since balance and map control is taken very seriously in a game mode such as this, so maybe if the amount of time allotted is great enough, and once the maps are submitted, the testing of them is thorough enough to ensure they’re solid maps, only then will they be chosen.
But we could get some real solid community-made classics that way. It’s a great way to strengthen the community and get people sharing creations and working together on projects. I think it’d be a cool thing to do.
I mean, it’s something we could and will do anyway through forge and customs, but the reason I made this was to put the idea out there that if some Community Management folks at 343 liked the idea, getting these maps into regular rotation for the general public to play … it would require their doing.
Or this could be a completely ridiculous idea on my part, who knows?
What do you guys think?
