There is a leak today that HW3 is back from the dead. That being said, what they should add in the next installment is forgable maps so that the community can stay alive. HW2 is one of my all time favorite games and the lack of updates could be addressed with custom community maps to keep the community flourishing. And custom game browser would be nice too.
I’m also looking forward for the Forged maps or even Mod maps.
Having a forge mode for Halo Wars would indeed be one of the things that would really justify HW3 for me. As I noted elsewhere it would parallel the classic Halo trilogy in terms of pioneering the genre for consoles again. Although it would need to be pretty substantial, with more choices than the current batch of maps and lack of special elements in multiplayer maps. Though if stuff like that is gonna be post-launch support I’d be fine with that. Kinda like MCC has forge modes for all the games and including campaign stuff just because why not.
