Can someone give me the logistics of this? Is it really that difficult to implement AI in forge. Maybe a little scripting menu. Why it is or isn’t possible?
Would you mind changing the title of your post? You’re probably going to trick people into thinking that it’s been confirmed.
But I assume it’s difficult to implement. I have no clue how programming works but there seems to be a lot that has to be created for it to work.
We all want it, but I don’t think we are going to get it…

Yeah. They’ve said forge is significantly improved but since Warzone, which includes AI, isn’t forgeable at all, it gives me little hope.
Its possible this time but will we get it? Not likely
I have wanted this feature forever. Far Cry’s map editor does it. Why can’t Halo? I had fun pinning goats against bears in a closed in arena. The potential for Forge… so much potential…

It is possible, but anyone who was given the tools to customize AI effectively would not have the necessary knowledge to do it effectively.
Even though it’s possible, it is nowhere near practical. 343 would have to code AI in such a way that it would react properly to a world that is not static. And the AI in far cry dont work with the world as much as Halo’s AI, so in far cry they are just told to “go for the player(s), avoid hitting or shooting through objects”, Halo’s are much more complex than that.
The AI in campaign and warzone are coded specifically for that environment, if a whole structure was added, the AI would have to be re-engineered to recognize that structure and work with it.
Hopefully that answers your question.

Call up 343i and let them know you can do. They’d probably love it. It’s easy after all.

But… Far Cry managed it. Someone even built a perfect Blood Gulch with AI all over it. I even played something like Firefight on it.
It isn’t difficult they’ve shown the ai spawn and how it works in warzone. To me it just seems like they won’t bother adding in ai spawns, puting scripting events that relate to ai within forge. From what I’ve seen is the that Doom has done just that so I’m not sure what’s limiting 343i from doing it.
Have you seen the Snapmap E3 presentation?
DOOM has figured a way to allow players to edit game logic, spawn AI and have AI fighting AI. Granted the only things shown for Snapmap have been just basically corridors snapped together…But in the end, it will really all depend on how the game systems are designed by 343.

Yep that why I was like wuuut will 343i do something that? DOOM has plenty of time to upgrade features while 343i has limited. Hopefully Halo 5 does do something with ai if not then I guess oh well.

I edited my first post to further explain but i will reiterate.
Halo’s AI work with the environment more than Far Cry’s AI. halo’s AI’s are coded woth respect to the environment, Far Cry’s is but a a far basic form, that adds a whole new, complex layer of coding for Halo’s AI that cant be manipulated with simple tools.
And 343 dumbed it down alot to make people understand the spawning system, they dont go into detail on how the AI actually react to players and the environment
sorry for any typos, hard to type while taking notes in class haha.
it really would be great to be able to make a training grounds kind of map with forge AI.
