Should there be an option for all remaining players on a team to vote to forfeit a game? Sometimes I wish I had this option when I’m in a very lopsided game (i.e. in the Arena when I’m 1 vs 4, or in BTB when it’s 2 vs 8), but I don’t want to quit because of the penalties (quit ban, effect on BPR, and in the Arena, the severe downranking penalty). Forfeiting would still count as a loss, and would require a whole team to vote for it. Obviously it’s too late to implement this in Reach, but it could be an idea for Halo 4.
If the game gets down to an 8v4 or 4v1 or lower, the game should just end right there.

I think that what you suggest is another good option.
Another point in favor of some kind of solution like this (forfeit option or automatically ending the game) is that very lopsided games serve to artificially boost the K/D stats of the team with more players and to diminish the K/D of the team with less players (who wish they could quit the unfair situation to spare their K/D, but can’t due to the penalties).

Nah I my 4v1 games, most of the time when my team quits it was them bringing me down anyway. I can almost always win a team snipers match when it’s 4v1 so maybe it should be an option and not just instant.

But the other team, it’s really boring to fight one enemy.

This.
I’d love for a forfeit option. Specially in games like BTB and Slayer. Swat on the other hand, I have a blast making the other team come find me. So an option would be great depending on the circumstances.
Though the problem remains. Say you meet a party of ten people in BtB. Two of those people are on your team. For some reason the other team is killing you to the point where the other five players on your own team ragequit. Now, a forfeit option appears and you click yes. Though the last remaining two, who originally came in with that other team say no. You’d have to either suffer the remainder of the game, or rage quit. Less likely to happen, but a remainder of party vote would kind of stink.
Preventing abuse might prove challenging. Imagine a party of boosters taking turns “forfeiting” a match 10 seconds into the game to complete a “win 5 games in a day” challenge. You could try to counter that by not counting victories by forfeit toward the daily challenge, I suppose.
I like the idea in general. You could dole out a special medal for winning by forfeit, ala the steaktacular medal.

So, all four of them would have the option to forfeit
Doing a 1v4 is fun in SWAT and snipers but not other slayer gametypes, so I’d be fine with this being implemented. H4 does have the join in progress feature though, so I’m not sure if it will be necessary.
If you’ve lost half of your team or more the remaining players should be given the option to forfeit, but no sooner as this would just make most games searching as a party last all of 30 seconds.
especially in MLG CTF or KOTH games when there 10 minutes left and 2 or more guys from your team leave. The other team generally don’t have the descency to quickly score to win, they just kill you over and over and -Yoink!- the crap out of you. But as someone said before me Halo 4 has in-game joining and they will overlook it
No white FLAG !!!
play with everything you got
There is a forfeit button. It’s called quit game. If you want to get spawn killed 4 v 2 it’s your own fault.
> If the game gets down to an 8v4 or 4v1 or lower, the game should just end right there.
I’ve won 4v1s, so I disagree with this.
I do agree though, that such a feature should be implemented, but to cut a good match with the person on the team of one winning isn’t really fair to them
Now THIS is a great Idea.

thats snipers, run hide and shoot. play more real games and youll understand.
as for me it would be useless to put a forfit option. because then thats all that would happen in BTB type games and such against all those piece of -Yoink- spawn trapper teams. every game would just be a forfit because almost every game against them most everyone quits. -Yoinking!- -Yoink- -Yoink- -Yoink-.
> If the game gets down to an 8v4 or 4v1 or lower, the game should just end right there.
Agreed.
When I run BTB we make sure we get objective so we can just end the game when too many of the other players quit.
Nothing worse than playing BTB slayer with 1 credit warrior left on the other team…
One of the New features was “In-Game Join In” So if somebody quits that spot is open for anyone else who is searching for that game-type.
I would like to see the ban notice gone, reach has over killed it by a land-slide

you are insane. it would be halo 2 all over again. people would quit just because it wasnt a map they liked.

And thanks to join in progress those players would be replaced.
