We won’t be fighting Flood in HALO 4, Frankie comfirmed it in a post. Anyway, the HAlO’s had heavily shielded areas were the moniters studied the Flood, hoping to find a cure, so far it seems to me that the best cure is a shotgun. If I’m wrong, I’m sorry, havn’t read any of the books.
Dude we are not fighting the flood we knew that like months ago Plus they activated the rings a million or 100 million years ago before humans were created.

I know that, but the Halos have a “secondary” function that is to eliminate all forms of life (Macro) in the galaxy.
They created this function to make The Flood extinguish because of the lack of food.
So,again. Why if they activated them the flood still exist?
(if you are wondering why all the other species are alive is because the Forerunners hid them in the Ark,the only place in the galaxy(unknown by the flood) that have not the “Halo effect”.

The moniters of the HALO rings had flood in stasis/cryo type thing and studied them, all the Flood didn’t starve.

Because the Flood samples were already in cryo/stasis while the rings fired and I think the HALO rings had some good shielding.
1- The reason they are still around is because the Librarian ordered that samples be kept so that one day, a cure might be found. The cure was Sgt. Johnson’s blood because he had a disease that gave immunity to the spores. This is what saved him in the first Halo. And the they aren’t in Halo 4, they all died in Halo 3 because they all gathered on the Ark.

Ok thanks for answers!
So they activated the rings and re-populated the other worlds keeping the infection out of the galaxy and keeping some samples in the rings to study them.
Than the Covenant made the flood free in Installation 04 millions year after…etc.

What about Flood samples in the other installations?
