Forerunners survived?

Just completed the campaign yesterday and I throughout I had some burning questions. Couldn’t find the answers to these on the wikia so I hope some halo-fanatic here has some answers.

  1. The Didact is still alive after eons of imprisonment? How long do Forerunners live exactly?
  2. The precursors are transsentient beings etc etc. Is the Didact transsentient as well? He lifts and moves MC around like a puppet from a distance while only raising his hand. Also, MC hears the Didact talking in his head while the Didact is miles away.
  3. After the campaign we here the Didact reporting his actions to a higher authority. The forerunners are still there?! What were they doing while humanity was loitering around on their rings, accidentally releasing their arch enemy (the flood) and even destroying their final and only weapon against the flood? If the forerunners were around, why didnt they intervene?

English isnt my first language - thanks.

1.The didact was in a sort of cryo inside of that cryptum meditating and being preserved. Otherwise he wouldn’t have survived that long.

2.That is called a constraint field, it allows the biological forerunner warriors to grab things beyond their reach and stop enemies from getting close. All biological forerunner warriors had that ability. It is from their technology, they aren’t telekinetic.

  1. Unknown. But if they are still around then I hope they choose not to listen to The Didact. I don’t want the reclaimer saga to be about fighting the forerunners.

Well the didact being in the cryptum for so long has nothing to do with his life span. The cryptom preserves life just like our cryotubes. But setting that aside, forerunners has extremely long life spans. They can live for thousands of years. In one of the books it states how forerunners rearly die of natural causes.

The Librarian, for example, was around 16,000 years old. IIRC.

Im thinking thats what Haalo 5 will be about. The Didact has some how survied and is now trying to get the remaing forerunners to start a war agaisnt the UNSC. There was never a 100% chance that every forerunner would have died when the rings fired. However im sure there numbers are really low. Im willing to bet as well they will try to use the rings again as a way to kill humans. I also see that when the Forerunners start the war the UNSC and Covenant will join together and fight along side. Heres hopping for the Arbiter to return

the Ending, the Didact wasn’t reporting his actions, it was more along the lines of something he said before and it is being recalled for artistic value to the ending cinematic.

That’s a stupid thing to think. The Covenant will fight alongside their gods. A select few Elites will join humanity against the Forerunners.

I hope not. The didact simply fell into the composer and that is how he survived, he is immune to its effects. MC survived the nuke, so he probably did too, no doubt.

I am sure that plenty of forerunners survived or were preserved.

Maybe The Arbiter’s forces will help along with a couple other groups, but not many former covies would be helping.

We never really did see him die or anything. Just fall off the light bridge.

Sooooo, what you said could be true, but it’s up in the air at the moment.
