Forerunners in Halo 4?

First of all, I haven’t read Cryptum or other Forerunner saga- books, so don’t hate me about not knowing things.

After seeing that halo 4 concept art trailer, I got a strange feeling that I was on the installation 04 once again. I mean, not a forerunner colony. More like ruins. Even we will be seeing the cryptum, sentinels and other forerunner things, will we be seeing forerunner individuals? Not messages or more questions - what about a real and living forerunner? What do you think? I, of course, hope that we could finally see them in real, but still I have a bad feeling that Master Chief is once again “late from the party”

I believe that the Didact IS a forerunner and therefore it is very likely we will be seeing a real living forerunner in the game.

The Forerunner books are really good, I’d recommend reading them.

There are a lot of possibilities for the story, but we’re probably going to meet at least one Forerunner.

the Promethean Knights are a level of forerunner so yes indeed the Forerunners are on requiem.

I highly encourage you to read Cryptum and Primordium they will answer and open up questions to you.

Another thing as well i have a good feeling that Requiem is a shield world that protects from the halo effects.

Except the Knights we see in the gameplay reveal are not organic.

no just the crawlers were said to be AI not the knights

Well I have read these Halo books (Halo: evolutions, ghosts of onyx, contact harvest, the fall of reach) and I have really liked them. When I finish reading this first series, (the fall of reach, the flood, the first strike) I’ll start reading this forerunner saga or the kilo-five series. Wich one do you recommend?

And about these forerunners… You’re giving out good points. Knowing the facts, we SHOULD see forerunner(s) by now. I’m just so interested about these mystical aliens. What do they look like without their suit/armor? How about precursors? Or these prehistorical intelligent humans? Halo universe is giving out so much to wonder and learn I don’t know what to do!

False. Cortana, after meeting a knight says, “whatever it is, it’s not organic”. And in an interview with Josh Holmes, the interviewer asked if the knights were organic forerunners themselves and he said that they were not.

I personally love the two Forerunner novels a lot, but Glasslands is pretty good with a few small things that irked me. It sets up the current state of everything for Halo 4, though, along with the next one, The Thursday War.

we’ll definitely see at least the Didact (who is inside the glowing black-and-orange sphere seen in the trailer, known as a Cryptum) and the Librarian in this trilogy.

The Didact is obvious, but the Librarian’s continued existence is hinted at in the final section of the second Forerunner book, which you absolutely have to read to get the most out of this game.

So yeah, we’re going to see Forerunners - maybe even a lot of them - and it’s going to be awesome

You should put that in the spoiler heading.

And we don’t know that the Didact is in the Cryptum. It’s possible, but we don’t know yet.

Have you seen a rendered picture, up close of a Promethean Knight? Notice the short, brownish colored stubby arms coming out of its chest? Tell me that isn’t a little organic, would also explain why they disintegrate after death, because there is an organic being inside . . . but who knows.

well since the armor is part of their body or maybe joins the body it could be considered cyborg. Also Cortana could be wrong. things have changed since E3 only time will tell tho

Point is good.

I kind of just hope that they are organic (at least a little) because then that explains why they disintegrate after death, and that could also mean that they could be the minds of previous Promethean soldiers inside those little organic bodies (or something) so at least they earn the title.

Wasn’t that confirmed?

Sure has, and for a very long time.

Point is, they in no way shape or form resemble “organic” forerunners as they were, and as such are not. Organic prometheans did not have little weak stubby arms, they were massive powerful creatures. Though I expect the little “people” inside have something to do with their formerly organic selves, as you say.

I just love the skull inside the warrior’s helmet: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CpCZfTw1480/T84WS2ieI2I/AAAAAAAAD0c/o7ntMoXmRJ0/s800/promethean%2Bmask%2Bon%2B4.jpg

To me, at least, they don’t look organic, and I don’t think those semi-weak warriors would be the mighty prometheans. They must be something else.

EDIT: I don’t know why does it show the beginning like that…
