I just watched the launch trailer and one voice said “forerunners are keepers of the galaxy” or something of the sort, then a voice I guess to be the Didact’s says " humans are the greatest threat to the galaxy". So does that mean Forerunners are against humans? or just the Didact because I know he hates humanity.
He could just be referring to himself and his Knights, I doubt all of Forerunner-kind would support him seeing as how he appeared to be locked in a Cryptum on purpose.
Humans kinda released the flood on the universe, maybe we are the ancient evil in someone elses eyes.
> Humans kinda released the flood on the universe, maybe we are the ancient evil in someone elses eyes.
Um…how? If you are referring to them using the powder on their pets in Cryptum, it wasn’t intentional and the blame would still rest on the Precursors who made it, as the Didact knows.
“And so you come at last. We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. Humanity stands as the greatest threat in the galaxy. The Forerunners have returned.”
The Didact does not hate Humans. However, because of this speech and the fact ONI has control of 3 Halos, he has to stop them. Because of the Mantle. That’s what I’m assuming.
As for the Forerunners returning, the Prometheans are technically Forerunners.
Everyone believes they’re the good guys and the opposing force is bad.
Humanity believes the Didact is a threat, and we have to stop him before he destroys us.
Didact believes Humanity is a threat, and he has to stop us before we destroy everything.

Considering the trailer mentions an ancient hatred and he considers humans a great threat…I think that constitutes him hating humans. Thursday War even says he does.
The Didact seems to be rather alone, with the exception of his Prometheans, in this little venture.

The Promethean Knights in halo 4 are not the Warrior-Servant Prometheans from the books.

But in Cryptum, he doesn’t hate Humans. He doesn’t like them. But he doesn’t hate them either.

Still technically Forerunners. They could still be Warrior-Servants. We don’t know much about them. The Composer could play key in their existence. Silientium will more than likely answer what they are.

Something changed then, Thursday War is pretty clear when it says he hates humans and was was locked away on Requiem where nobody is to awaken him.

Well obviously we might not know why he hates humans until either halo 4 or silentium get released and explain his reason.

I don’t think they are forerunners, but I do agree with you on the composer point… I think we’ll find it all out in 4, Silentium will probably give us a better explanation though.

Wonder what the reason for the rather drastic change.
From the sounds of it, in Siliteum he’s busy fighting the Flood. What happened during that time that made him hate Humans with a passion?
Either November 6, or March will answer these questions. Can’t wait!

Composer. Composer. Composer. I will ask, and it will answer… Somehow.
But yeah, Halo 4 will probably give a snack size of info, while Silentium goes much deeper as to why. Can’t see 343i leaving Halo 4 players completely in the dark about the Prometheans.
Maybe he hates humans, because the Didact thinks they contributed to the Librarian’s death. It’s hinted at in Primordium, I think?
There’s too much speculation around this.
After reading Thursday War, I can say we are definitely able to see the Didact doesn’t like Humanity. As for him having no allies at the moment, give it time, soon the UNSC is going to be in trouble just like before.
Everyone hates everyone prediction coming up…
Can’t wait for Silentium to clarify some of this stuff…
I remember the Primordial saying that the Forerunners were never meant to inherit the Mantle and that the Humans would succeed the Forerunners to be tested for inheriting the Mantle.Maybe that’s why the Didact hates Humanity?
I’m not sure you watched the “Launch Trailer.” I think you watched an in-game scene if you saw what I think you saw.
This is all assuming that the didact is the ancient evil.
I was curious about one thing in the trailer.
how quickly he awakens from the cryptum. In cryptum, the UR-didact is practically half dead and takes days to rejuvenate and regain strength after being woken up by Bornstellar.
In this trailer, the didact seems to just wake up straight away and start forming together.
