Forerunner Weapon; Suppressor... Any tips?

I need more kills with this weapon to work toward completing the commendation, but I’ve noticed it kinda sucks with shielded enemies. What I’ve been doing is hanging out with teammates and sort of “stealing” kills with it, and that’s how I’ve been running it. However, for the sake of not feeling like a jerk, and being able to depend on myself if all my mates are taken out, are there any methods of using this gun that can really take on something like the Assault Rifle?

Some of the Pros/Cons I’ve noted of the Suppressor:

+High firing rate/-insane recoil
+High ammo capacity/-very weak damage output*

  • = I’ve noticed that the damage output is vastly more effective against enemies with no shield left. Thanks to the high fire rate, you can take out an opponent with no shield very quickly with the Suppressor, but the challenge is getting that shield to go away.

PP: High shield damage, low unshielded damage

Suppressor: Low shield damage, high unshielded damage

PP: Secondary

Suppressor: Primary

PP: Close range

Supressor: Close range

Perk exists to increase weapon switching speed

…See where I’m going with this?

Use it on smaller maps and probably on FFA as a second weapon. The suppressor is a suport weapon to the BR so use like that. Should help you more.

Also with this close range weapon you have to pretty much accept you’re going to die alot and charge in.

K/D isn’t an issue to me, so that’s what I’ve been doing.

…I’m confused. What does PP mean?

Plasma Pistol.

Ah, I see. So PP combined with Suppressor is a pretty good combo.

Plasma Pistol. It’s a Covenant Sidearm that when overcharged, can EMP vehicles, and take out a Spartan’s Shields in one blast.

I know what a Plasma Pistol is.

Play King of the Hill or Extraction etc on the smaller non-vehicle maps (e.g. Abandon, Solace, Adrift etc).

the areas are much more likely to be contested and contested in a much closer proximity overall than other maps. The automatics come into their own their over BR DMR etc, especially the Suppressor.

I have no problem getting Supressor kills up close. The thing ruins everything your opponent has. The range/bloom is a major downside but what you get is the biggest magazine and fastest ROF of all the automatics.

My best advice is just to get close. Make sure that your opponent isn’t using a Boltshot because that gun can outclass automatics in such an overpowering way it’s not even funny. If they don’t, make sure you get the first shots in and stay close. That spread will -Yoink- you in the -Yoink- if you are not careful, especially if they have a DMR.

Oh yeah, just like the Storm Rifle, you’re going to want to lead your shots when your target does some fancy SK strafing. If not, most of your bullets will not land as much as they need to for the kill and coupled with massive bloom, chances are you are not going to get a kill.

The low shield damage doesn;t matter when it has the fastest firerate of all the automatics.

Just get really close and shoot it at people.

The problem is people treat it like an AR when it’s an SMG, it’s not designed to be used past close range.

I normally use my Suppressor when I’m trying to get assassinations (For the Venator Armor.) But, when things go wrong I can just whip out my trusty Suppressor and spray the -Yoink- out of the unlucky guy that managed to turn around. Works every time, because almost always the person will be carrying a ranged weapon. So what you can do is use active camo to get up close, especially in objective game modes like KOTH or Dominion. You’d be surprised how many people just walk past you without a second thought when you’re using it. But that’s just how I like to play. There are many other methods as well.

I’ll tell you the way to get the most damage out of your automatic gun. Watch the crosshairs on the screen. When they start to spread out a lot, stop firing for a second and let them go down. When the crosshairs are closer together then they do more damage because its more accurate which in theory deals more damage. I give you this information because I prefer the automatic weapons over the semi automatic/DMR type weapons. Does it mean I’m a bad shot? Maybe. But hey, I can still kill you just as much with my AR than I can with the DMR or BR.
