It also reminded me of Metal Gear Solid 3’s sonar. Sure you can use it to know where guards are at but the device itself makes noise every time it’s used (not to mention it drained battery), so your position could be revealed if guards are nearby.
I think people were expecting it to be like

i’m sure if there are any balance problems with it, 343 will patch it up, they’ve done alot of changes to reach to try and make it better, too bad that game was just beyond any kind of help

ya but i have played alot of games that use the whole “seeing through wall” concept. i mean the Blacklight tango down HRV was extremely balanced in theory more then what halo 4 has presented but the second that hit gameplay it was just so bad. it became a very beautiful game of sit in a corner with a CQC weapons, grab soda and something to eat and just wait because ya people could also see you but you still had the advantage of not having to put as much effort with it. and no matter how many patches they did to that game it never solved it because face it would you really want to go fight when the enemy has to come to you to win on team games. now im just telling you this from experience with these ideas. that are even worse for game breaking. the second that people kill these guys with it it will instantly spark the -Yoink- fit for AL on reach. i guarantee that not long after release there will be a dozen threads saying it needs even more nerfing if it is what i think it is. all these things were made to be anti-camping but in every case it ends up working both ways and it helps make a fun game of sitting in the corner. never have i seen a game that actually makes it work only anti-camping so im keeping my awareness on this AA.
