Forerunner soldiers?

Do you think that it would be possible to have real, living, organic, lethal, 10 000 000+ (10 million) years old technologically advanced soldiers armed up to their teeth, fighting against the MC/Locke/Arbiter?

I think it would be awesome, even though we all saw what happened with MC vs the Didact, whose battle armor was zillion times more advanced than Chief’s. Maybe some kind of countermeasure to be applied, perhaps? It would bring some nice variety, instead of fighting those Halo 4 Promethean Knights. I remember reading somewhere here in forums, that the knights were brought to be what they were, in order to be on the same level of lethal force with the Chief, so that the player could face enemies that are credible.

What do you think, should this thought become reality?

I think fighting an army of Didacts might be a little difficult considering how technologically advanced Forerunner society is.

The Didact was the only Forerunner that hated us. You would think if they didn’t like us, why would they of reseeded us?

In the Epilogue of Halo Silentium the Iso-Didact hopes that humans and Forerunners meet again and become bothers working together as we always should been.

Maybe some stayed loyal to the Ur-Didact?

And yes, without a leverage it would be like an army of Didacts vs the player, but hey, writers could come with something more or less awesome reason, like an ancilla inhibitor

Doubtful, by the end of the Forerunner-Flood war, Forerunners didn’t seem to have much of a population left. They would be more focused on rebuilding there population. Also the Didacts hatred for humanity comes from the Gravemind completely messing him up. The Didacts promethean warriors would have been silly to follow him. Forerunners are a fairly peaceful race, if they were ever to return, it would be to ally with us. They may no longer hold the Mantle but they probably still live by its teachings.

I don’t think the Gravemind planted the hatred, just exploited it.

The Didact was the highest ranked Warrior-Servant there was.

His equipment was probably better than most, and he was probably of a more advanced mutation than most.

Then again, there may have been some cultural changes amongst the Forerunner so that they no longer turn themselves into twelve foot giants at all.

There’s a fine line between honoring and respecting your enemy and downright committing genocide and enslaving them.

Fighting actual Prometheans (not the knights) or the regular Warrior Servants would be great, but I fear it’s impossible unless A) Chief time travels, or B) we get a totally separate retro game.

My money is on B. In about 10 years I wager we’ll have a Halo title set in the era of Ancient Humanity. All new characters and settings, and a bit of back-story the current universe. Sort of like Reach was to CE, but 100,000 years ago. Think about it: Forthencho vs. Didact. Now that would be totally awesome.

one thing that really bothered me about Halo 4 was how Knights weren’t at all what i expect from an Advance Forerunner killing machine. I’m 100% sure a Promethean Knight would lose to a Sentinel Enforcer. Those were not very special just level 2 flood threat level bots. Even Guilty Spark said MC’s suit was only 1/6 the strength of a standard Forerunner Combat skin and yet MC was able to take down Knights in large numbers. Just look at the ending to Halo 4. MC took on Didacts ship full of Prometheans.

Never before has there been a mission where MC just took on everything by himself. He’s always had someone on the ground with him. If they weren’t his allies they were his foes enemies. They’re area few skirmishers where he had no backup but ever assaulting a battle cruiser all on his own about to nuke a God.
