Forerunner Precision Weapons

Light Rifle zoomed in… beats all. At least from what I’ve seen. Binary Rifle… 2 shots, haven’t seen reload speed but seems pretty boss.

What Is the thoughts of the community?

I heard that the binary rifle can kill in one shot anywhere, not just the head. Also the light rifle has a 4sk I believe, where the BR has a 5sk. The light rifle is also one shotkill less than the DMR.

Does the Light Rifle fire a three shot burst unscoped?

I keep hearing people say that everywhere, but I haven’t seen any proof.

Yes it does. Just watch any gameplay of the Light rifle and watch the ammo on the top right.

That wont help. Each burst only uses 1 round.

No it doesnt…

LR is 4SK while BR and DMR are 5SK? I assume that means LR has a slower rate of fire?

EDIT: did some search and saw somebody mentioned LR is 5SK unscoped and 4SK scoped. Is that the case? That would make more sense to me.

It does beg more questions though: what about a mix of unscoped and scoped shots? I would assume 5SK if any shots are unscoped? (with the exception of 3 scoped to strip the shield followed by 1 unscoped headshot)

Another related question: in H4 would a player still get pulled out of scope after being shot?

The easiest way to confirm this is to watch the new ViDoc: return of the forerunners, at 7:57 mark:

“It works like a battle rifle while not scoped, has a little bit spread, has 3 round bursts; and it works like a DMR while you are scoped, it’s like a mini sniper rifle in a way.”

I got ROCKED with the Binary rifle quite a few times. At one point I was hit in the foot and taken out. It’s one heck of a power weapon.

The Light Rifle seems like the starting weapon with the most range efficiency. When I used it I nailed a lot of cross-map headshots.

That being said, I still prefer the DMR as a starting weapon.

What are the reasons behind this preference? Better zoom? Faster RoF?

The reason why I ask is that I have seen people excited or concerned about LR being OP compared to BR and DMR. I certainly hope that’s not the case.

I fear the combo of the focus armor mod(reduces flinching from shots taken) and the light rifle will be too powerful. Especially combined with jetpack.

The light rifle is definitely not overpowered. I only ever saw people with DMRs really kick butt.

I just found it quicker to take down enemies with.

This is a game play video in which LR looks powerful and triggered some OP discussions:

Light rifle zoomed in will probably beat every other counterpart in a long range duel because of the extra damage and no visible bloom.(Just from vids I’ve seen.)

No matter what they do the Binary Rifle it is going to be OP. As for the Light Rifle I think it will be one of the preferred loadout weapons when people become familiarized with the game. Burst when unscoped and single shot when zoomed in. Best of both worlds.
