Forerunner Level - Impossible to beat...

Am I missing something here? Just got to the Forerunner level, need to get to the pylons, but there is no way in hell you can beat this solo on Legendary…Prometheans don’t die. I am emptying my entire 2 guns into just one to kill it, nevermind trying to kill them all…

There isn’t enough ammunition in the world to kill them all, heck not enough right now to kill 2 Knights.

Either I am missing something or 343 took the fun out of this game by making these Prometheans aggravatingly hard.

Trust me. You haven’t seen hard yet…

yeah,Legendary is totally back on par with the smash your face against a table difficulty that Halo 2 had… that being said, there were some decent bullet sponge moments on normal, legendary will be a pain in the cajones

try killing the little flying things first, they regenerate the knights and make it seem like theyre endless :’)

> Trust me. You haven’t seen hard yet…

I trust you, but I mean, it’s not even fun, finding strategies to beat enemies is fun, but it seems currently that Promethean Knights are invincible.

Use their own weapons against them. That’s all I’m saying.

Good luck with that, even on normal there was moments were I was getting my -Yoink- kicked.

You need to take your time when playing on Legendary.

I already started raging on normal… D:

I’ve finished the game on Legendary. It’s nowhere near impossible.

Try and find an incineration cannon, its what I used on normal and it was 1 shot kill. + did anyone else not see a single rocket launcher in the campaign or was it just me?

Heroic was a PITA. Fun, but damn Promethean’s take bullets like champs.

> Try and find an incineration cannon, its what I used on normal and it was 1 shot kill.

This. Utility guns are the key. Use them at chokepoints, grind with the weaker guns. Forget about using precision weapons for the bulk of the mission (unless you have good aim, know how to conserve, etc.).

> did anyone else not see a single rocket launcher in the campaign or was it just me?

There’s one on Requiem.

I suck and I beat Requiem…you just need to take your time, use everything on the battlefield. You can assassinate them, and kill the little things over their head first. Shotgun blasts take 2 up close and they die. - spoiler - I am having trouble on the next stage though where you just have to fight waves of guys…I die in like 5 seconds…any strats for that?

Sorry, meant Forerunner, and I’m now on Infinity. My bad. It won’t let me edit or else I would.

It took me 9 Hours to complete this campaign Solo on Legendary

I have a few tips for you if you are in dire need:

Kill the Watchers first.

These guys can constantly spawn new enemies and protect the Knights. Taking them out first will reduce the number of enemies you have to fight. It also means you can kill the Knights with less difficulty.

Use the Forerunner Weapons against the Prometheans.

If and where you can. Their weapons are far stronger than UNSC or Covenant Weapons. It’s just like in Halo CE, 2 and 3. Where the Covenant Weapons were most effective against the Covenant.

Always remain calm.

This sounds stupid, but getting worked up will only make you do something stupid which will often result in you being killed. If something isn’t working, try something new.

There are a lot more things, but you should be able to figure most of it out yourself.

Under your post is a button that says Menu, click it and it’ll show the edit option for your post.

Anyway,

As for the Op, I didn’t play it on Legendary since I don’t handle stress very well, so I just stuck with Normal. But I always make the flying guys, called Watchers I think, a priority target. Those damn things always seem to resurrect any of the Knights I kill. So try taking those out first.

No worries. Churning my Legendary and Mythic guides out as fast as I can

Tyrant, make sure you post the number of bullets it takes to kill the Knights. They ARE bullet sponges in the worst tradition of Halo 2. I’ve been IDing targets/areas of difficulty for my Legendary run and just about any Knight has gone on that list. The part where you defend the door during the mission: Infinity has jumped to the top of my list. Four or five Knights who run straight at you with a horde of Crawlers buzzing about you too. Oh yay!

I’ll be as thorough as possible. You can count on it
