Forerunner Leader

After the Forerunner-Flood War most of the Ecumene’s leaders were killed off so I was wondering who is the leader or de-facto leader of all the survivors? From what we know only two high ranking Forerunner titles survived the war and they were Lifeshaper and Protector of the Ecumene. Both of these titles are currently being held by Chant-to-Green and Bornstellar-Makes-Eternal-Lasting last we read.

Also considering how small there species now is, what are there chances of survival? 100,000 years later. In Halo Silentium it was said only Lifeworkers went to the Ark. And in Halo Rebirth, there was mention of a Warrior-Servant. So what are the chances that survivors from other rates also made it to the Ark thanks to Offensive Bias.

Just for the sake of discussion say the Ecumene did survive up to our current timeline. Does anyone want to see Chant or Bornstellar? I know there is that argument of Forerunners can’t live 100,000 years but there armor makes there lives near indefinite and I don’t want to argue about lifespans.

Lastly if some of the other rates did survive the halo array. What do you think the ranking system will be after 100,000 years. The way I see it, the ranking would be:

Lifeworker
Miner
Warrior-Servant
Builder
Engineer

You can’t just ignore the lifespan argument. It is very unlikely that Chant to Green and the Bornstellar Didact are still alive, unless they are in some kind of stasis, which isn’t out of the question.

However, my theory has always been that the remaining Foreunners banished themselves to Path Kethona, like their ancestors millions of years before them. Some very high ranking Foreunners may have been put in stasis, waiting for any “Reclaimers” to find them, but I think that most of them have “degraded” themselves like their predecessors, as a kind of atonement for their actions. So there wouldn’t really be a rank/rate structure.

If they are still around and normal as you suggest, I imagine that they’d be rid of the rate-based government entirely, and just all work for the betterment of their community.

> However, my theory has always been that the remaining Foreunners banished themselves to Path Kethona, like their ancestors millions of years before them.

Yeah, I’ve been starting to think of this as a viable possibility. Throws the IsoDidact’s statement about going to “follow in Their footsteps” after the firing of the Halos into a whole new light when interpreted that way.

Also, at the end of Primordium it is clear that Chakas has tracked down Chant to Green, believing that she is the Librarian. He’s nicked the Rubicon and has gone off to find her, so we’re just going to have to wait and see where this strand of the narrative takes us.

Yes I understand that argument but as we know. Despite having advanced technology for millions of years. They still advanced at a comparably rapid rate. With a number of breakthroughs and developments occurring within a single millennium. Which means that the chance of increasing there lifespans isn’t out of the question.

I was wondering on many forums people believe the Forerunners exiled themselves to Path Kethona, but I want to know why you and others think that? I’m not doubting your claim or anyone else’s but I remember the Master Builder fired a shot at that galaxy killing everything in it. So I don’t see why they’d go there but you have an idea while I have none, Sorry.

Exactly they need a government body if they are still around. After all what is stopping a young Forerunner like Bornstellar from wanting to visit the Milky Way Galaxy. But this is just a idea off the top of my head and I doubt it would really happen.

@OnyxKing
After the firing of the Halo Array, and the remaining Forerunners’ acceptance that their time of assuming the Mantle is over, it’s not out of the question that they would want to leave the Milky Way to avoid “meddling” with life again. I feel that they mirrored their ancient ancestors and exiled themselves to Path Kethona. Of course, some key Forerunners could have stayed behind in stasis, waiting for Reclaimers to awaken them

Anyway, it’s just a theory, and the Forerunners may very well still be somewhere in the galaxy.

Path Kethona- now that would be an interesting locale to visit in future games. Imagine fighting real Forerunners there, or fighting along side them.

That’d be something. If my theory is correct, some Forerunners may be in stasis, waiting for a Reclaimer (cough cough John) to awaken them.

I can’t remember if it was in the Ghosts of Onyx but didn’t Halsey and the Spartans find some pods that held people inside they couldn’t see? Or was that the critically injured Spartan team I was thinking of?

It’s a 99.9999999999% certainty that we’d be allied with the potentially surviving Forerunners, as they make peace with humanity by having a great feast on the Ark to mourn the passing of the Old Galaxy and celebrate the beginning of the new one. The IsoDidact says to Riser that he hopes his descendants will one day meet humanity again as the brothers they should always have been and find trouble to get into.

5 of the pods held Team Katana, but the remaining 3 held unidentified personnel, perhaps a science team.
