Unless I missed something, I don’t think we ever got told what the thing was. But to me, it looked like the device that assembled the Didact’s ship in Halo Cryptum… Just a little crooked. Of course it is not the exact same one, but it could be another.
Which Forerunner device on Reach? There was more than one if I’m not mistaken.
