Based off of first three episodes to get to about 18% wasn’t counting sorry.
farming episode 5 #1 The Gate. to 24%
so once you get to there roughly. playing 5 #1 should take about 50 solo trys, give or take maybe an extra 10 to rack up stuff like crawler snipers. focused usually takes about 11-12mins. so you are looking at 11 hours + maybe 3-4 to get to 24%
I’m giving up, wanted the armour. but unless the next episodes have more forerunners per level, I’m not sure how realistic it’s going to be to get this without farming. I’m at 11% Covenant and that’s without trying, they have more types to kill to.
Umm currently at 3,534 forerunners killed, so I think the grand total is like…10,000-12,000 total kills to finish it off.
I am too trying to now achieve vanguard armour. I just recently got the “commando” helmet and “dominated” embelem. Celebrates. I worked out that *Forerunner Destoryer is not as bad as i thought.
Of corse the “Craweler Sniper” commendation is very off balanced, but is in fact the make or break commendation of this armour.
I’m nearly half way there and i have some wisdome to shine upon you!
When trying to do this commndation, just focus on “Crawler snipers” and maybe “knight commanders” only! You will without fail get the others on the way. At first i’d advise you to play the Mission “The gate” over and over, until your “Forrunner enemies killed” is up to about 50%-60%. This is pretty time consuming, but it is not bad. If you have the “Gunner” perk from the “Pathfinder” Specilization you should have no problem doing this mission on easy in under 10-12 minuets. There are a minimum of 160 foes on this map (All promethean) with a maximum of about 280 (Taking a bit more time) maybe more than 18 mins.
This should only take a couple of hours to do. I found my Forrunner destoryer went up about 1% or maybe even 2-3% (Sometimes!)Everyt time i played the mission. The best motivator of this commnedation is to always be aware that you are progressing.
Once you reach 50-60% and the percentage starts to slow down to about 1% every 2 mission go onto the mission (Epsiode 1 - Chaper 3) “the fortress”. Now focus purely on snipers. Take this oportunity to mess around with your loadouts and level up if you are no SR130 already like me. Test yourself. Try and set challenged for you games like beat a certain time or don’t die to make it less boring.
My advice during the level i’d say let all of the watchers spawn crawlers! Don’t kill them too soon or you may loose kills!
The number of snipers on this mission is anything between 8 and 16. At this point you will have to play this mission a bare maximum of 200 times. Yes, it’s friggin lots! but level yourself. Try and do 10 missions a day every day to make it less tedious.
Before you know it, you’ll be on your way! You may even want to replay the mission “The gate” until you master “Kngiht commander” or if you are getting bored, try out other missions with prometheans.
If you want to know what levels have what, here is a super useful chart with everything you need to know (Be aware that the number of ebemies on each match can change a lot!)
Only way you’ll see me attempting Forerunner Destroyer is if they increase the XP payout for individual commendations (1000-5000 XP can easily be achieved by completing a Spartan Ops mission).
I agree I’ve got all bar 4 covenant mastered complete, 3 are master level but not complete and storm Jackals at 1 level below mastered. I’m something like 80 odd % complete
However Forerunners are at like 40%
only crawler primes mastered
2 on master but not complete
but I’m 4 levels off sniper master, and 2 off commander
I find I enjoy the ‘farming’ of E4C2 driving the marines about in a hog trying to splatter the knights and crawlers, and avoid being splatted by the 2 wraiths on that level.
I usually play it once or twice a night, along with a covvy episode to get my last few up in that too. I like playing Switchback on harvester (E6C5) for assassinations and that gives me Covvy and forerunner kills too. The knights are real easy to assassinate there, once they teleport usually just behind you they face the wrong way and you can easily get them.

You shouldn’t claim others work as your own. “TheSchnitzelMan” made that chart and you should probably give him credit for it. Here’s his original post.
I’m at 81% with only Knight Commanders and Crawler Snipers left.
I find a lot of Snipers on The Challenge and several Commanders on Spartan Miller and Switchback. But it still feels like a massive grind, just for an armour set, some xp and an emblem. In the next season (and that’s if there is a new season), I really hope there will be more Forerunner-centered levels.
I mean, mastering Covie Destroyer was easy, with all their focused missions (even a whole episode at one point). Forerunner Destroyer is boring with barely any focused missions, the same kinds of enemies in similar ambush-like encounters, with practically no Snipers or Commanders and sometimes it just feels like they’ve been thrown in to the mission with little planning.
What you do is pick up rockets and kill all the crawlers and the first knight then run under the arch and if you killed all the crawlers and the knight then 3 crawler snipers will appear just after the big rock arch. Then repeat until you get what you need.
I made this video. It explains what to do in the description and links to the Halo forum post where I read about it. It’s pretty much what Sku11K1ng14 said above me.
