The E3 teaser trailer for Halo 5 showed Chief walking around in the desert and winding up finding THAT THING… Where was Mendicant last seen? Buried in sand… Chief is probably gonna try and get that thing to help him bring back Cortana: It just makes since. (He helps the humans in Halo 3 after all)
Who knows? Mendicant Bias might even try to help Chief and the humans “reclaim” the Mantle…
Considering they seem to be setting up that machine to be the main villain of the game I think it’d be weird for it to be Mendicant Bias.

But if you watch the 2013 E3 trailer, it seems like it certainly could be him (MB). After all, he has changed “bodies” several times, lol)

Yeah, but the machine is floating ominously over a burning city in the cover art and it didn’t look too friendly in the trailer either.
As to cover art they’ve put Covie vehicles in the background before and the machine is pretty well placed to be taking part in the destruction.
It’s totally a Guardian.

Well, you have a point, but what can I say? Mendicant Bias is a little… unstable 
Maybe he goes bad again after he, I dunno… Maybe runs into the Diadact?

Plus wouldn’t it be a little anticlimactic for 343i to make that thing a flipping sentinel?
Someone asked Josh Holmes on Twitter what it was and he said the answer is in “plain sight”. The obvious answer would be a Guardian, but it’s still unclear.
i say MB because in the books his tomb is describes as a structure rising form the ground with arms that open up like angel wings and when he what revived form the flood a giant shockwave was created. like in the e3 trailer. and the when they put him in the tomb they say. here is your resting place where u will stay till time ends or until the flood retires and we are at a point where we are without hope then and only then will u be risen. and we have seen flood forms in the comics. on the spirit of fire.
Yeah, It’s got to be MB… And personally, I think he is the answer “…In plain sight.”
