Introduction
Hey there, recruits! My name is Barry Soap and I am here to tell you about the war simulation community that is Forerunner Conflict. What is a war simulation community you ask? In a nutshell, it is a community that simulates the actual feeling of a real war and military-like feeling in the HALO universe. There are two armies, the R.E.D.D (Royal Enforcement Deployment Division) and the B.L.U.E (Brotherhood Legion of United Exiles), who “battle” every Sunday night at 6PM EST/ 11PM GMT/ 5 CT over various maps to gain control of a “War Map” that we have created. The objective of each army is to conquer as many opposing maps as possible and then finish the weaker army off at the ‘Capital’ map (historically it is a popular 8v8 map). In a war simulator, each army has a ranking system, as well as Battalions, Companies and Squads. The “Wars” (as we call them) use a variety of gametypes, some simple such as SLAYER, CTF, STRONGHOLDS, and others more unique and custom-made, but in the end, it all feels like an actual war setting in the HALO universe. Games are competitive as well as fun, so regardless of your play style, you’ll have a blast here! Forerunner Conflict also offers a variety of contests, tournaments, and community events for people to enjoy as well as occasionally winning prizes!
***See bottom of post if you are already in a clan/community.
History of our community:
Our community was formally established in June of 2006 (yes, all the way back in the days of Halo 2), which means we’ve been around for OVER 9 YEARS. Throughout Halo 2, our precursor community names have gone through various changes, the most notable ones being Red vs. Blue Wars, Allies vs. Axis, and Galactic Wars; each having faltered due to a weak foundation of rules and systems. However, in June of 2006 we officially established Red vs. Blue Retaliation, with the intent of setting a strong foundation of rules and systems which would create a solid structure for years to come (which has allowed us to last this long and this strong). We would officially change the name to Forerunner Conflict by the start of Halo 3 for uniqueness-sake. Through the years we’ve gone through many positive changes to make our wars more authentic and fun.
What else can one expect from Forerunner Conflict?
We at Forerunner Conflict pride ourselves in not only enhancing the HALO experience for gamers, but we have a commitment to providing a respectable and experienced community. Aside from the main wars, Forerunner Conflict encourages friendship creation, gamer bonding, and a general forum to where gamers can feel accepted and respected. As said, FC also hosts a variety of contests, tournaments, charity events, and community events either totally unrelated to the actual wars or have some sort of unique tie-in.
This all sounds awesome! How do I join!?
Well first off, you should visit our fantastic website and forum boards, register, and enlist for whichever army you would like (PLEASE REGISTER WITH YOUR ACTUAL GAMERTAG, and please put who you were referred by. In this case, it would be Barry Soap or the Waypoint Recruiting Topic). Our forums are http://fcwars.net/. But, you can’t immediately jump into battle once you enlist! Even in the actual world, all enlisted must go through a BOOT CAMP. Yes, you heard me, BOOT CAMP. This has been a trademark of our community since the day it was created. All members must go through a BOOT CAMP, in which they will be told the rules, regulations, and will be shown several military-like tactics that can come in handy in the actual battles or even matchmaking! We also use BOOT CAMPS to weed out anyone who isn’t interested or not taking us seriously. The main goal of boot camps is to make sure we allow respectable people to join. To partake a boot camp, please enlist on the forums and you will be contacted by a drill instructor.
This leads me to discuss our most IMPORTANT RULE:
RESPECT!
Though our community is a war simulator and we take our roles seriously, our number one focus is about RESPECT and making sure everyone is having fun, because in the end that’s why people play video games, to have FUN! If you join, don’t hate someone because they are in a different army, our job is to make sure everyone is friendly and having a fun time, while at the same time being competitive! We encourage people to make many new friends.
Already in a clan? If you think you have what it takes you can enlist your whole clan to the Forerunner Conflict and lead them into battle for either REDD or BLUE. We have no restrictions against being a member of multiple clans since FC is not a clan… It is a community.
When entering the forums please post in the ENLISTMENT OFFICE in the army sub-form of your choice.

We also have a large machinima following including Machinima.com directors. FC features a large backstory that is fleshed out by our members with LARPs, Machinimas, and Stories.
