I keep running into the problem of having god-awful laggy games with hosts in foreign countries, mainly Colombia. It completely ruins gameplay (getting shot through walls, opponents eating shots), and I don’t want to back out of games and lose CSR rank. Does anybody else have this problem and any solution to it?
You can check who is host in the lobby and back out without being penalized. That’s the first thing I do now in playlists where I care about my csr.
I do often, but it goes so quickly a lot of the time. Would dedicated servers take care of that issue?

Dedicated servers would help with the lag but I doubt Halo 4 will be getting any so I just make do for now.
It’s just one of those things. I’m from the UK, and about two in every three games I experience your mentioned issues. The other I’m more often than not matched with other UK players or a strong foreign host.
Only tip I could give is that I find in games where players eat shots, they just seem to eat the ones that aren’t bang centre of the reticule. Basically imagine Halo without any bullet magnetism whatsoever. Usually I find shots that were on the head dead centre will still kill in those conditions, you just won’t get away with the same shots where only half the reticle is on the opponent.
Also, don’t challenge unless you get the first shot. Your shots take a slightly longer amount of time to register, so you will always lose 1v1s in which neither of you miss, unless you get a notable jump on them.
I don’t know why, but that’s been my experience of it. Makes you feel like such a crack shot when you get used to that and then get a game or two as host, mind.
Edit: Just realised I assume this topic was concerning full blown 300ms+ lag rather than off-host latency issues. In that case, yeah, back out of the lobby if it’s that troubling. There is no compensating for a game with connections that weak.
