Foreign host week this week?

Unreal how bad the connections have been since this games population is down to like 40k peaks. It is literally under 50% of the games that you get a game without lag issues. And even when its not yellow or red bar the connection is garbage, grenades come out half a second after you throw them, everything has a huge delay.

And of course I never pull host with 25 down 5 up but instead the AOL dial up connection kids in Mexico get it all day long.

I concur. I have noticed that a lot lately - horrible lag when in multiplayer games.

Some games it takes 5 seconds before the grenade comes out - or any large heavy weapon like Rocket Launcher or Laser even begin to fire.

I really wish that 343 had options to select Preferences like:

  1. Only play local (i.e. my continent, my region like NW North America etc) based on my TCIP address or where Gold Live account address is supposed to be.

  2. By Ping Time Grouping (not 100% reliable, but better than what we have now)

etc. etc.

Its pretty bad 40% of the time on the new maps in FFA M:/ Annoying. My connection is pretty good too

Welcome to Australia’s world; all the animals are venomous and the lag is ever present. For us it has been bad since day 1 but in the last week it has been terrible - I can only play BT or IS now if I want to get a home host as the other playlist populations are too sparse. Plus we’ve been asking or a filter since day 2 - 343 have provided their standard response “we’re looking into” and since then tumble weed.

This game is dying on its feet - 343/-Yoink!- only have half their planned DLC out the door and players have already lost interest. The population will snowball even faster as those that have said in the past “as long as I can still find a game” come to realise the reality of the lag-fest that low population brings.

While I personally lag only rarely, lack of a regional filter is a major technical oversight on 343’s part.

Dedicated servers needed.
If 343 are going to be serious about the Halo franchise then Halo 5 had better not be Loadscreen 5.
The 360 is antiquated Im not even sure of the specs but compared to a pc of an average build it f’ing sucks.

The ONLY way H4 was not my last Halo game is if theres dedicated servers for 5 because Im done sitting in loadscreens 30-40% of the time.

Game needed dedicated servers or at the very least a good connection option.

Dedicated servers in every major country - not just the USA. Thats what has irk’d me the most about paying for xbox live - if your outside the USA you pay more and get less.

Doesn’t it search for good connections as a priority in the background anyway?

Surely telling it you want to prioritise games in your region becomes a bit redundant if it’s prioritising a good connection for you?

If it wasn’t just a prioritising feature, and it could only search within your region when selected then I would understand why you would want it included, although it would likely lead to longer search times.

Doesn’t seem to prioritise good connections in anyway from what I can tell - regularly end up in games with hosts in other countries. Whatever its doing its doing to wrong.
