Forcing us to buy the "official" flash drive?

I have a 4GB 360 slim console and I have ran across numerous problems regarding the need for hard drives with other Halos, especially Halo 3.

But now I know that ownership of a hard drive will not be necessary to access all game modes in Halo 4 as a memory stick can be used!!!

But as I researched this, I’ve noticed that there are a lot of references to the “360 Flash Drive,” and not just any ol’ flash drive.

Is this going to be one of those straight up bull shnikey deals where they will force us to buy the “official Xbox 360 Flash Drive” just like they had for many others with the “official Xbox 360 Hard Drive” and not just any other cheaper hard drive?

Because I will NOT give into them if this is the case. I will simply not be a hyped up adherent to a money grubbing scheme that could be so easily bypassed.

pretty much any 8gb flash drive will do fine, you don’t need a 360 one (if those even exist), assuming they exist, they are probably just pre-formatted which is something your 360 will do toa normal flash drive anyways

You can get a non-official 250gb hard drive for $50-$70. It’s half the price of a microsoft one, and it’s got a ton of memory. The only downside is that you can’t download original xbox titles off the marketplace. I’m not sure if you’re willing to spend that much, but it’s definitely a good deal for what it is, and it’ll provide you with plenty of memory in the future if you ever need it.

Most drives work as far as I know, just some work better with the Xbox 360 than others.

Any San disk drive would do fine as they are recommended for use with the Xbox 360.

Use any flash drive, the Xbox will ask to format it for the data but other then that you’re fine with any I guess.

You can use normal flash drives, nobody is stopping you.

You can use any USB flash drive that has LESS than 16 GBs in capacity.

32 GBs support was added in the recent dashboard update. (Unpublished change)

P.S. If you use 64 GBs or more it’ll still work. However, only 32 GBs will be used.

this is boring

Wow, I thought that I was gonna have to buy an official 250gb HDD.

1 day, 7 hours and 48 minutes for me

Good old dashboard count down clock… constantly reminding me how slow time is.

the 360 flash drives are so over priced for only 16 gigs… But you should’ve never gotten a 4gb console D: i feel bad for you…

i just bought a regular 16gb flash drive for $10 and it works fine on my xbox
