Something that has annoyed me and no doubt alot of others when playing Reach is when people force themselves to be betrayed or force you to commit suicide because you either have a power weapon or tank.
These are two good examples of what I’m talking about
Do you think there needs to something added to Halo 4 to stop this sort of stuff?
If Friendly fire is turned off then I guess half the problem is solved, but even then the suicide problem is still an issue.

Maybe its not common for you, but there is a number of people who have to deal with this quite regularly, myself being one of them. It’s a serious issue in Halo and in any game with friendly fire.

This is not always a possibility for everyone, and hardly a viable solution.

Simple Fix II:
Have a matchmaking system where you are matched up people that are on the same skill level as you. If you play like an idiot you will get matched with them, play properly and play the objective you will get match up people with people on the same wavelength.

Thanks for the links, I was wondering why players were on the tanks when I was in it, I too would like this things sorted,
It happens a lot, and hopefully won’t in Halo 4 if they can find a way to fix it.
i did that just last night but it was because the guy in the tank was ramming all our vehicles and was not helping the team so i jump in front of him a few times causing him to team kill then i booted him

Which is why both matchmaking and friendly fire must be fixed. If Halo 4 matches you with people of the same skill, you wouldn’t have to do that and people wouldn’t betray each other. These are the two main issues in Reach’s MM in my opinion.
In addition to a ranking system, I think you should be booted after 3 betrayals or so, regardless if all three were an accident or not. I think if you commit suicide more than 2 times, you should be booted too, regardless if they both were intentional or not.

Betrayal is fun. They should give the other team like one half a point for every betrayal and prohibit players from booting entirely. I betray people for power weapons all the time, not that I use them. I like to betray somebody, take their gun and then not use it effectively on purpose. Sometimes I betray people in vehicles too. It’s really funny when I’m the driver because I wait until the warthog is full and then immediately drive off a cliff.

what? So you believe that you match up with these people on a more frequent basis than everyone else and that is the reason FF should be turned off?
i hope halo 3’s betrayl system returns because reach’s sucked -Yoink-, i kill a teammate who killed me first and i get booted, or he betrays me 3 times and i do it once I get booted and he gets to laugh his pathetic -Yoink- and tiny -Yoink- off.
I agree with your proposed betrayal system (although a poorly thrown grenade could get you booted at the same time), but in a map with a lot of walkways and a high potential of accidentally jetpacking off or walking off, two suicides seems a little harsh. I would say 3-4 for both of them.
If Friendly Fire and Betrayal Booting makes it’s way into Matchmaking again to annoy even more players, I’d advocate some added code on the Scorpion Tank and the Wraith.
If you are standing on that gun and the tank fires and kills you, the very act of being on that spot of the tank will immediately deem it a suicide. Kill that boot exploit immediately so you can’t have kids camp on you to get the tank that is apparently supposed to be theirs.
So if that player is standing infront of the Scorpion tank gun waiting for the driver to fire so he can immediately boot you from the game and get in the tank, He instead gets a suicide for his trouble. Same with the Wraith Cannon and even the Falcon blades. I got to watch two peopel in a party leap on my friend’s falcon and suicide, instantly booting him from the game. It would be the perfect way to stop that part of the issue.

Beats what was in Halo CE. If your teammate shot you even once (that means even on accident) and you killed yourself, he would get a betrayal.
