Forced to play on overseas servers

is anyone else having trouble outside of the United States being forced to play on their servers every single game today? I’m in Australia and it’s unplayable ATM. It’s only been an issue today with at least 15 games in a row being played against people on servers on the other side of the world. I’ve been able to get games at all times of the night on our servers without a problem since launch but today it’s absolutely stuffed. I’ve stopped playing its that bad

Same here in New Zealand.

Yeah i do believe 343 have removed region locking for people to jump into matchmaking and get an instant game. I would prefer them to add a “good connection” option like halo 3 for those players that don’t mind waiting a few extra minutes for a good connection game. Anyway the OCE community could reach out to them??

That’s absolutely rediculous if they have done that. For the first time in a long time since halo 3 was at its peak I’ve been able to play halo lag free and loving it. If it’s true they have just killed halo outside of the states again. -Yoink- 343

Yeah, after having the game be virtually unplayable for the entirety of the last weekend, I was willing to let it slide when they changed it back some time around Monday. But the lag is back again today and my friends and I that were going to party up and play for hours have pretty much decided to… lets just say, play something else instead (trying real hard not to swear right now, but what we really said rhymes with “Duck this game”).

I tried tweeting a bunch of people from 343 on the weekend, and there were numerous threads complaining about it at the time, but they still decided to remove the region locks again. I know they (probably) don’t think “Murica great, everybody else sucks” but that is the impression that it gives the rest of the world when crap like this happens, and stuff like this does affect sales.

If I had a physical copy, I’d probably be riding my high-horse back to the store to demand a refund, and because I live in Australia, they would have to give me one because the consumer laws protect us from faulty products that don’t deliver what they promise. Technically I could get a refund on my digital copy too, but it’s more trouble than I’m willing to go through right now, but if I could just walk into a store and walk out with my money back, then I could find the motivation for that.

Anyway, here’s hoping it’s fixed by the weekend.

This is every game at the moment
