Maybe I am the only one that hates to be inserted into games already in progress. Can we stop that?
Not currently, and with all the players who quit out in the past few multiplayer Halo games I don’t see it likely. However I do feel it needs tweaked to some degree depending on gametype. A lot of the games I’ve joined are at the beginning, at least 85%, but maybe I’ve just been lucky.
Join In Progress is not new to FPS games and PC games have been doing it for awhile. Only people on consoles complain about it.
When you are searching for players, And it brings up say 5 players and shows their spartan ( meaning it is throwing you into a live game), you can quickly press start and go to network settings, and change it from xbox live to xbox 360( local i believe) and it will bring you back to find a game. I do it all the time because I hate being thrown into a game on the losing side and play catch up.
There is a way around JIP.
Normally you can’t back out once players are found and you are being put into a match that’s already started. Very odd design choice.
HOWEVER, if you switch your networks status to Xbox 360 or System Link before you are put into the game, the search will cancel and you will be exited out of MM. Just switch back to Xbox Live if you want to search again.
