Forced Crossplay ruined it

official stats post on reddit

Go back.

Except it doesn’t my guy, and it’s clear as day given the stuttering and the frame/gameplay desync that theater mode is actually not solid enough proof to make any assertion.

The guy was claiming hacks, but theater mode made it look like shots were being fired behind the target. The interpolation is all off.

Edit if anyone is wondering, you can format links by highlighting the link in question and pressing the < / > button on the toolbar

It literally does. Theater mode records inputs and plays them back. Its how its able to record matches without taking up insane HDD space. No its not 100%, yes you can easily tell if someone is wall hacking if they are on the other side of the map and tracking an enemies movement perfectly.

And in my link you can clearly see the guy flicking from player to player insanely fast with inhuman reflexes. It doesn’t need to be perfect to know the dude in that video was aim botting.

I don’t get your problem?

Flicking from player to player is not indication of a hack. “Inhuman reflexes” are not what you’re seeing. Frame perfect snaps, camera locking those are the movements that are tells.

Flicking is a common PC movement, it deals with practiced muscle memory and fine tuned sensitivity and DPI settings. Flicking is not an indication cheating:

There are several kills in that video that revolve around stationary exposed targets, targets moving in a linear direction, and instances where target movement is matched to offer a stable shot. There’s even 2 points where shots are missed.

The other fallacy the individual purported is that other weapons aren’t affected by hacks. This is flat out not true. Hacks aren’t weapon dependent, an aim assist hack (which is what the individual would have been using) is just as substantial on an AR as it would be on a sniper.

Summary

It quite literally amazes me that there are basically no game developers who understand this…
How can they actually not figure this out before their game goes live, there’s literally no good reason to force players to match with players they are disadvantaged against, not to mention PC is plagued with hacks.

Bunch of old boomers trying to develop a successful game and yet every single one of them miss on so many levels because they actually don’t know what is right and wrong.

I’m a PC player from Xbox for a few years now, just find it so f**cking bad that developers can’t get such an obvious decision right, makes no sense and neither does the fact their is no solution to PC players using hacks on their games but you would think they at least stop spreading the plague over to Xbox as well… Senseless decision for a game taking millions of dollars worth of development.

It blows my mind to think there are players who think this game isn’t in Beta and think Crossplay is permanent.

“Plagued with hacks” is a bit of an exaggeration. Hacking exists, but it’s hardly an epidemic.

I know the difference between real flicking and aimbotting…That halo clip the dude was blatantly aimbotting. No one does a 180 and does a perfect headshot.

And you’re still asserting that Crossplay will be optional on the 8th when the Beta tag is dropped when literally no where has 343 stated this is or will be the case. For all we know right now, until otherwise stated by 343, crossplay is stuck forced on.

That’s why there’s even a conversation happening surrounding crossplay, people have always wanted the option to disable it if they want. We want 343 to acknowledge that so that we know and aren’t assuming they’ll change it when we do know if they have any intention of changing it.

I believe you do, but I think the assertion of the streamer is guiding your stance.

Pair that (again) with how theater mode works, it’s going to give you a sub par interpretation of what the players are doing due to the desynced nature of how shots line up.

If it was an aimbot you’d see obvious signs of tracking (again: fixed camera movement, snappy frame perfect aim), if this individual was hacking at all they were using an aim assist style hack. Even then, subtle vertical movements when tracking horizontally (recorded inputs) kinda dismantles the assertion.

What’s the timestamp on that particular kill? I’ve watched it through 4 times so far and haven’t seen this one.

No, I’m making an educated guess based on in game context (menus that allow a choice in some game modes).

Call me out when I’m wrong.

Only on specific guns. Since I’m a pc player I’ll controller it up for the ar and br. And switch switch mkb do I can wreck with the starting pistol *the pistol Is unusable on controller. Same with most other weapons like the skewer

Burden of proof is on the accuser.

Until you have proof, baseless accusations violate community guidelines and are reportable

FPS Games Are About to Die - youtube com/watch?v=revk5r5vqxA&t=383s

This one explains some things. Also why most aren’t caught.

They won’t. It has been determined already. That’s why you have a “controller” only playlist. You get the same games in ranked you get in quick play. BTB would never work properly if everyone didn’t play crossplay. As a PC player I don’t want to be forced to play controller if I don’t have too. In MCC M&K lobbies are not a thing. They don’t exist. That can’t happen with Infinite.

lmao no the sidekick slays on controller what are you talking about

Also a PC player that uses controller here lmao nah the sidekick is GOOD on controller

You have it backwards. Mouse users have to play against autoaim controller users is the problem. Especially with the BR. That thing is so reliant on autoaim, more than any other gun.

This all reminds me a lot of the discussion related to CoD Warzone at the time. And you all know how this ended…

Unless you’re playing low sense the sidekick is hard to use in close range since the way it works is that it only tries to stick and never edge you onto their bodies, so you get Shaken off really easily, if you’re playing on max the response curve is really steep for no reason, meaning unless you’re just used to it, you overshoot.

If you’re having troubles against controller just melee headshot.

Them Lasering is one thing, the latency or netcode or whatever it is causes desync and lag like a -Yoink!-. Even Bungie got this right for Destiny 2 and I hate Destiny 2.
