I was just wondering if anyone knew why we can’t collect weapons from hunters? Every other enemy that dies drops its weapon. I think there should be an animation of your spartan taking his knife and cutting the cannon off of the hunter, yielding either a wicked grasp or a berserker’s claw depending on the boss’s level. Any thoughts?
probably in halo 6, Our dreams of shooting a hunters arm just became real in halo 5, maybe 343 will continue to improve on that.
That would be sick especially in campaign
I think the reasoning id that it’s not really a weapon. It’s part of the Hunter’s body, which is made up of a ton of Lekgolo worms. Without the worms, it wouldn’t function. Why would the worms continue to function for a Spartan? My guess about being able to wield a Hunter’s claw in Warzone is that it’s actually a weapon made to resemble a Hunter’s claw, instead of actually being one.
I do agree that it’s disappointing that we cannot pick up the Hunter claws in Campaign and Warzone and my guess is that the Hunters wasn’t shipped in a way to make it possible to pick up there weaponry.
It would be great if the Halo 5 Campaign could be slightly updated with adding new secrets and some of the new weapons/enemies.
That would be cool.

Considering that you can see Lekgolo still wriggling in the Wicked Grasp and Berserker’s Claw, I’m pretty sure that they’re both completely functional when separated from the Mgalekgolo. Furthermore, the Assault Cannon itself is part of the Mgalekgolo armor, and not part of the worm gestalt itself.
But the main reason that you can’t pick the Assault Cannon off of corpses is because it was never designed that way. The Assault Cannons weren’t added until long after Halo 5 launched, thus the Hunters were likely never designed to have their weapons be separated. This would have resulted in the Grasp and Claw being completely distinct weapons from the versions carried by Hunters. And because the Hunters were never designed to have the Assault Cannon be separate, you wouldn’t be able to pick them up unless they were modified, which never happened.
That would be awsome.
