If you saw the IGN video on their playthrough on the campaign, the person mentioned that she did not see any sentinels and expects that they are replaced by those new flying aliens. I expect that a lot of people are probably disappointed but I am pretty sure sentinels are not cut. In one of the Inside Infininte blog posts, Joe Staten mentioned wether he should follow a group of sentinels into a cave. This is proof that they are not cut from the game so do not be worried.

On Fragmentation you see deactivated sentinels which are presumably their campaign models. Also the sentinel beam is in the game. Perhaps you mostly encounter sentinels in a later part of the game than where IGN got to?
