For those who Think the Mantis will be OP

For those of you who think the mantis will be slightly Op, dont forget, we’ll be packing Plasma Pistol loadouts. If you and your friends can ambush it you’ll be able to take the mantis down.

That or we can enlist the local band of Ewoks.

Maybe Ragnarok is has built-in swinging tree logs of doom capable of wrecking walkers?

or construct a long rope out of fallen spartan hair, and then tie it between two trees and have it get tripped over it, then we can proceed to open the hatch and put our nuts on the face of the driver.

And the map is loaded with lazers, warthogs, banshees, scorpions, rockets, etc. With good tram coordination, the Mantis is going on. If not, you’ll be wrecked.

Or, as DecepticonCobra said, take it down Ewok syle.

If I see someone in a Mantis, I’m going to switch to a loadout specifically for EMP’ing it and rushing to board it.

Spawn with Plasma Pistol and EMP grenade, use Mobility (for unlimited sprint and the ability to catch up faster) and Thruster Pack (also for catching up faster).

At this point I just need to be smart about my movement, and have the aiming skills of a CoD player and I’ll be able to stun the thing and board it.

Of course, it helps if my team is distracting it and keeping the Mantis guys team off of me while I board him.

Also, what if I have ordinance? I might get the lucky rocket launcher, or maybe I’ll get a speed boost, Spartan Laser anyone? There are so many factors that could go into taking one down I’m not really surprised that it’s a boss.

Although . . . like Cobra said, those Ewok’s are sounding very tempting haha.

The vehicles are only as good as the person using them, it’s always been this way.

I was thinking someone could shoot it with the P.P and then someone could sacrafice themselves by boosting a Banshee into it.

Thats a good idea. Have at least one anti-vehicle specific loadout, with PP and perhaps Pulse grenade/Plasma Grenades. Thruster for fast boarding and mobility, maybe Grenadier to carry more grenades if things go wrong.

If I’m going to drive the mech, my loadout is going to be equipped with that Driver mod, so EMP will have less of an effect and it will regenerate health slightly better.

Still count on it being nerfed.

The mantis only looked powerful in the video was because it was made to look cool. A marketing video showing off the new thing that destroys everything will get people excited and get core gamers all pissy.

There are Ewoks in Halo? Why didn’t anyone tell me this earlier? That’s the best solution ever!

About EMP… Don’t forget that players inside the Mantis could have the ability that can resist EMP’s.
