This is taken from my response to another thread, but its how you beat the AR. I see at least one AR OP thread every day. I mean you will eventually die to the AR no matter how good you are… It’s your primary starting weapon for goodness sake.
There’s a lot skill involved in knowing and choosing what gun to equip in each encounter based on radar, callouts, and audio information… You need to adapt to each situation with a plan! You can’t just blow everything away with your BR. Which… if you are actually really good at this game, get close range perfect kills with good cover utilization and thrusting… you can! The AR should win gun fights at a certain range because the guy who had the AR was smart enough to have it equipped when he got the drop on you from 10 meters away.
Was he crouching behind a corner with the AR? That’s your fault for not checking your corners and keeping an escape route in mind when entering a room.
Did he beat you at a range with the AR? Most likely he had an ally assist him or got some nade damage on you.
Were you at max radar range and he beat you? Most likely his aiming was on point and your precision weapon shots were slow or you missed… Or you should have abandoned the encounter and tried again from a distance, and if he chased, throw some nades between you and the wall you are hugging to drop them at your feet.
Ultimately if you die repeatedly from the AR, there is something you need to adjust in your gameplay. Whether its positioning, strafing, thrusting, or simply being more cautious and not sprinting around aimlessly… there are so many ways to ensure that you don’t die from AR nubs, and complaining about it on the forums isn’t one of them… lmao.
I think pistol/ar/br/dmr/carbine/LR/smg balance is PERFECT (pun intended) — although, I think the BR could use a little less aim assist because the only way to get a good player to miss shots is with a crouch strafe.
