For those who have aiming problems

Go to your settings and change your sensitivity.

Eh… that isn’t a solution, buddy.

The issue is with the goddamned Dead Zones in the joysticks, they are wider than they should be. Changing sensitivity isn’t fixing the core issue per say.

Well it worked for me. If you are missing shots, turn down the Sens and up if you are finding it hard to track your target. Took me nearly a month to get used to the game but that’s the way it should be. Halo has never been a pick up and do great out of the box kinda game, instead people will just moan at their lack of skill and blame it on all these technicalities. Enough said.

You do know that even sensitivity 10 is far slower than sensitivity 10 in other halo games. I always play on 10 but dont play swat in halo 5 because it is so slow.

This seems to be a popular topic and most posts say to change the sensitivity of the joystick on the controller. There really aren’t any other options here. Other people are seeking an update to fix “the aiming problem”. But I wouldn’t expect it and not everyone is having problems with it. Again most people have learned to adapt to aiming issues making adjustment to the sensitivity or just getting used to the default settings.

FACEPALM!!!

Somehow I don’t think changing the sensitivity will help fix massive dead zones in the controller and a screwed up diagonal aim acceleration

They changed the aiming mechanism from the beta, 343i has even said themselves that they changed it, and unfortunately (with most things 343i does) its not for the better

In every shooter I play I set the sensitivity for the right joystick to match the movement in the left joystick. Thats -Yoink!- near impossible for H5. But what I did do was finally set it on 2 until I really got comfortable with it(maybe played 30 to 50 games). Now I have bumped it to 3 as 2 is too slow. It is better than what it was or I have just adapted to it. Not sure which. I did update my controller so that probably helped too.

I can only play on 2 sensitivity. Anything higher and I lose complete control of the aiming reticle in this game. At first i thought 7 was the answer but in the end I had to go super low. Even now, I still feel like the aiming and sensitivity is a lost cause for me personally. I don’t know how other people do okay with it.

I remember when Titanfall shipped and the studio behind it said they were completely unsatisfied with the way the Xbox One control sticks responded. Microsoft shipped an update especially for them. I think to be honest the Xbox controller sticks are just a squirrelly disaster that are beyond saving.

Getting PS4 next week.

Edit: Beta aiming was fine. Had no trouble doing well. Would have been happy with that.

Hey look he’s getting a PS4 next week, that’s one less to worry about on the forum.
BYE!

Halo 5 has the slowest sensitivities out all Halo’s. I can’t go back to my trusted 4, because they butchered the aiming. I’m a 6 now and still having aiming issues with my reticule going wild at times. Trust me, I can catch on to good aiming mechanics given to us. I’m a Lvl 80, this isn’t skill gap, it’s bad aiming mechanics.

How comes all the pros can still shoot hella good?

How comes all the players I meet on H5 don’t talk about this bad aiming mechanic?

How comes I can hit perfects with weapons when the aiming is so broken?

I think there is nothing wrong with the aiming tbh but that’s just me, maybe I’m not good enough to notice anything amiss with it.

Didnt 343 also lessen the AIm assist?

I was having problems aiming in the beginning but I think that was form not playing shooters for so long. I feel ok with it now.

The aiming feels fine to me ever since the update

THANK YOU! Somebody finally said it. I hear so many people complain but I have NEVER had a problem and my aiming sensitivity is at 10

I don’t have the issues most people seem to have with it but it was definitively better in the beta. No idea why the changed it.

If you’re getting a PS4 get thumb stick covers cause you’ll tear the thumb sticks apart. It happened to tons of people and that’s why I got mine.

That’s kinda rude. I mean did he say he was ditching X-Box One? Cause I didn’t see that. I have an X-Box One, PS4 AND PC and you don’t see people yelling at me.

Might be a coincidence, but dropped my sensitivity down a notch last night before I started and had my best night of Halo 5 in several weeks.

exactly the same. I usually play on 4, but in Halo 5 I need to go to 10 which isnt even close to the speed I want because the reticle is so sluggish.
