We all know its because you dont want to be reminded of how terrible you are at the game it wouldent harm your beloved social experiance in any way at all, overall a skill ranking system would just make fans happy 343 knows this but still no information on it is released, whyyyyyyy???
Ummm… No. I don’t want it because I don’t like getting hit offline, and I don’t like having to create another account just to get 50 because my 1st account got level locked at 45 because I didn’t care to begin with (this is my 1st account). I also didn’t like trying to go in by myself just for some d-bag to derank and make me lose.

1-50 is a joke, just like this thread.
I don’t care about the visible side of it, as long as the ranking system matches me accordingly. The way I see it, there are both positives and negatives about the ranking system being visible so personally I’m indifferent. Though I can see why some would want it and some wouldn’t.
Apparently, the ranking system is SOOOOOO important.
I used to care like you.
But honestly, it’s a waste of time.
The only reason I bothered to rank up in Reach was for the armor.
You just want a well-designed system so you can feel good about yourself.
And every now and then, some kid will say, “Wow! Look at how high ranked he is!”.
Stop focusing on it and just play the game.
Customs are much more fun than Multiplayer anyways.
I just hope there’s an API so Halotracker can provide me with ranks that mean something.
That’s why you can split ranked and social. Those that want a ranking system can play ranked. Those that don’t play social.

This is the only reason rank matters.
For evenly-matched players.

I get hit offline in Reach outside of Arena.

Some guy asked Frankie about the ranking system and he responded that trueskill will be there and there will be a ranking system that matches you against players similar to your rank (no this does not count the ranks based on credits, it’s a completely individual rank). The only difference is the skill based rank will only be visible to you, 343 hopes to prevent cheating by not making it visible to everyone. Competive players get matched up with people of similar skill, 343 limits cheating, casual players still have the ranks based on credits. Win win if you ask me.
The ranking system is broken and can’t stop Yoinks! from boosting. Some people would rather not pull their hair out over a skill based matchmaking system and ruin the game for themselves (myself included), either. Why don’t you ask the derankers where your precious ranked matchmaking went instead of 343?

Because it’s abused.
Because it’s broken.
Because so many people think a number, or graphic proves you’re superior.
Trueskill and a visual ranking system aren’t the same thing you yoink! No one (or at least most people) objects to having a stricter trueskill system that matches players more appropriately. What some people have a problem with is have skill visualized which promotes boosting and cheating and they think it has no meaning outside of bragging and acting like an arrogant jerk online.

No, OP, I’m pretty good at Halo and the reason I really don’t care about visible ranking systems is because it attracts people like you.As long as the system works and matches me with evenly skilled players I couldn’t care less about a virtual number that doesn’t mean anything…

this comment is a joke, seriously your judging a system that was broken.If there is a ranking system then it wont be anything like 1-50 in terms of
it being broken or abused.
Honestly if you dont want it then just dont play it if there is one. Problem
