For those who don't like the multiplayer

Reading lots of complaints on the forums regarding the multiplayer. The majority of the threads seem to be a call for the game to go back to Halo CE, 2, 3, or even Reach. Well, excluding Reach, all of those games are playable in MCC. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but most people do not want to keep playing the same game. This goes beyond Halo as the main complaint regarding the Call of Duty series has been lack of change as well. Also, to be frank, those games were not perfect multiplayer games and would not be able to compete with other major CONSOLE games.

I got to say I agree with many of the reviews (for once), this is the best the multiplayer has been mechanically. My only complaints are that it is lacking certain modes (BTB, Grifball, etc.) and spawns can be funky at times but they are coming. It takes what works best from the past games and mixes it with new stuff that makes the game feel fresh. It is also by far the most balanced version of the game to date. Everyone starts the same, each weapon has a niche but isn’t ensured victory, and the game finally has reasonable kill times.

Again, I get that everyone is entitled to an opinion but for those wishing to play Halo 3 or the other games, MCC is a great option for you.

I’ve played a bit but you can’t fully judge it yet as forge, custom playlists and many maps/gametypes have not been released. Also the lack of splitscreen

I agree that the lack of splitscreen is a major let down and that there are still things to be seen. I was speaking more of the core mechanics of the multiplayer though. I myself am not crazy about arena style multiplayer which is why I preferd BTB and custom games. However, 343 managed to make Arena mode fun (though still not my favorite) and added Warzone which is a cool Battlefield-esque mode. I can’t wait to see how the other modes run with the new mechanics.

1.) MCC has a terrible matchmaking system. Also lacks a lot of options. And is still riddled with many bugs.
2.) I don’t understand this statement: “Most people do not want to keep playing the same game.” What the hell does that mean? Was Halo 3 the same as Halo 2? No. Was Halo 2 the same as CE? No.
BTW, Call of Duty is pretty much the same every year, and it’s still the top console shooter. Obviously, people want more of the same (With new content and new graphics) when it comes to their favorite franchise.

Exactly what he said, not to mention the extremely low population due to H5 release, so we can’t really “go play MCC”.

I like Halo 5 especially compared to that mess of a game Halo 4, but neither will compare to how Halo 1 2 and 3 played, best multiplayer with the best core mechanics.

Its honestly not not even Halo anymore, these are just spinoffs.

1.) Be that as it may, it the best option on CONSOLE for those wishing to have an “old school” Halo experience. I did not encounter the issues you did but recognize that your experience may have been different from mine.
2.) Yes, Halo 2 added the ability to hijack vehicles, Halo 3 added utility items, and both made minor changes to kill times and movement speed, but overall these are all the same game. Very little changed between them. For the time that they came out, this was ok (Halo 3 pushed it a little) but times have changed and these games simply would not compete in the current pvp market because they are OUTDATED. Halo 5 added many sandbox changes, modernized movement, and improved the overall game mechanics while creating a very balanced multiplayer experience. I rarely feel cheated when I lose or get killed in Halo 5.
As far as Call of Duty goes, the game has changed in some ways. It did add new movement mechanics simalr to the Crysis series which is the same thing Halo 5 did. They also changed the time period from “modern” to more futuristic. Either way, you are correct, the game has had success despite staying relatively the same. BUT, it is a more modern game than the original Halos, it is a game anyone can count on having a friend that plays, and it may employ similar addiction tactics to what Destiny used.
