For Those That Aren't Complaining 2.0

Hey all,
I don’t see a massive problem in anything in Halo 4. This thread is entirely for people like me, who love the game, and would like to express thanks for the game, share stories of amazing multiplayer matches, favourite weapons, and positively talk to each other in general about this truly incredible game.
My favourite part of the game has got to be the campaign. Although some of the objectives got a little repetitive at times, it had the most touching and sad ending I’ve ever experienced in a videogame.
The multiplayer is my favourite in any Halo game, as it feels very balanced, has fantastic maps, and is altogether extremely impressive.
Spartan Ops, though it lacks a particularly strong story so far, is another triumph for Halo, and it’s always great when a new episode is released.
Go ahead! What do you want to share with us? Type away.

I think you might need to give your optometrist a visit man.

your complaining organs seem to have grown gigantic.

the game is fine.
don’t like it, go play cod.

This is cod, just halo style

There are some pretty major issues that I’ve heard of, yes, but I haven’t encountered any. These (as far as I know) happen for the minority. Keep in mind that this game has sold millions, and there have only been a few hundred who have encountered the big problems.

Obvious troll is obvious, or obvious Fan boy is obvious, I’m sorry but denying that this game has issues is ridiculous. This game has flaws, In my eyes many flaws, but in some peoples eyes only a few, but nonetheless there are issues, saying the game is fine is blind fanboyism.

> it had the most touching and sad ending I’ve ever experienced in a videogame.

Ok, I was gonna pick apart and reply to several segments of this thread but this one caught most of my attention.

Are you serious!? Have you played many videogames before and aren’t aware of the writing in other games? Halo 4 had the most “touching” and “sad” ending? How is that even possible? You don’t even see anyone die. They more or less just look you in the eye and say, “You’re supposed to be sad, be sad!”.

I bawwed my eyes out when Mordin sacrificed himself in Mass Effect 3, and you’re telling me that Cortana walking up to the camera and saying, “I died” is on par with that?

I know that this is all subjective, but seriously.

Let’s not turn this into a flame war. Positive comments, guys and gals…

is the game playable from start to finish? yes.
can I play a MP game from start to finish? yes.
is it (mostly[1]) balanced? yes.
are there game breaking bugs? no.

see? the game works. it’s fine.

[1] no halo game TO DATE has been perfectly balanced, all games had a dominant gun. H1 had a totally OP magnum, H2 had the BR, H3 BR, Reach DMR, H4 DMR (though the other precision rifles are close to it).
all others complains (mainly ordnances) are opinions and not fact and count as obvious flaming since they are opinions.
any flaws mentionned can be fixed via TUs.

Halo 2 was the most bugged piece of game I ever played, but it is also considered to be the best Halo to date (just next to HCE). glitchy/unbalanced game != bad game.

> Let’s not turn this into a flame war. Positive comments, guys and gals…

You can’t be positive when your favourite game since you were 10 has been butchered and become a part of the “follow the trend” games. I’m sorry but they removed much loved features that made Halo, Halo and then replaced these fundamentals with elements that are unnecessary, blatantly don’t work in this style of game and have been over used by every other FPS game developer since 2007.

I’ve not played Mass Effect, sadly, but I can understand that you felt sad in parts of it. I don’t play a whole load of games, but you have to say that it was at least a little sad when Cortana died.

Is the game competitive straight from the Box? No. This game has been made overly casual to appeal to those that cannot be bothered to get better at games. They’ve already left and now we’re left with a game that barely anyone wanted. Does no one remember 10 months ago when someone suggested that the game should have perks in the game? He got scorned upon by everyone.

343 promised to take the game back to it’s roots, they couldn’t of done anything more different than that.

No, it wasn’t sad. That was the biggest problem with that scene and character deaths in general. You basically get one shot at it, and the worst way to deal with it is to treat it like its part of a check list. That was the problem MW2 and MW3 had after MW1. They thought you could simply kill a character and it will engage the player with how “emotional” it was.

the game isn’t perfect unlike what you seem to think I am implying. it has flaws (missing my favorite gametype (assault) being the most glaring one, not enough maps, lacking custom game options etc) but like I said these can be fixed via a TU that is likely already in the works. (I can explain in a lengthy post why it is probably in the works already, but I hope you don’t need me to).
the game is competitive straight from the box, to an extant. the specializations don’t give a HUGE advantage, and it replaces an armor/tactical perk too so it’s a trade. still, my DMR does the same amount of damage yours would, I get the same starting guns, etc. the difference is a few specialization

and IMO they got the HCE feel. combat is fast and furious, like in Halo 2/CE, and they got the “we on an uncharted place now” feel CE had too.
I’m a bit sad I’ll never get to play a game similar to Halo 2 again though, because of perks & loadouts, but series have to evolve to stay competitive. you can’t ship out Halo 3 forever, I mean people already complain CODs are similar (while each installment has got TONS of changes, though not graphical)…

Change is good if it’s going to help improve the game. However blatantly ripping off over used ideas that every FPS Gaming companies are now using just isn’t the way to go about it. They’re just further adding to the stagnant genre. They could quite easily of expanded upon the core of Halo, they did the opposite in that they removed fundamental features that worked perfectly well with the style of game. Everything 343 has added doesn’t cut it, they don’t work well in a game that was based on equal spawning.

Don’t tell me that you still are equal just because you have the option to choose the same options as the player that killed you. It’s not equal if he had something over me that I didn’t have, if I have to change something just to counter something else, its doing the exact opposite of what these perks were there for. They’re there to add variety apparently, but it’s not variety if I have to use something just to counter something else.

I agree with op. I love this game, played every halo since halo ce and agree…the campaign is just as good as the first halo. I haven’t had many issues with the multiplayer, some times the connection drops or lags out when I’m trying to splatter someone, to me its not really a big deal I just take a break. I guess my attitude comes from playing halo ce back on the original Xbox when if you wanted to play multiplayer you had to take your Xbox to your friends house and link them together.

I love the weapon drops, its great that you don’t have to sit on the spawns anymore to get a powerweapon, now you actually get rewarded for participating.

I like the way you aquire armour In halo 4…ahhh it was terrible in reach, just how many games did you have to play to unlock inclement weather???

And thanks 343 for bringing back my favourite halo 3 map Valhalla…never got to play it enough in halo 3… Nobody would vote for it.

I love this game.

Love the game. Just add in a few more things and make a few tweaks and it’ll be damn near perfect.

Look at my recent posts, all I can do is show love for Halo 4, unfortunatly most people on the HALO 4 FORUM complain.

You can simply go to the fourm about the Specialization emails and see whats wrong with the game. They aren’t keeping their promises, I want my Email >=(

The only people on the forums are the complainers. Everyone else who likes the game is playing it. This game is amazing. There are a few problems that need ttention, but the game as a whole is sound and enjoyable.
