I was having a little complication with it myself, and I changed my settings to these terms.
-3 sensitivity.
-1 look acceleration.
-0% inner deadzone.
I think it’s the inner deadzone, the mechanic that deals with shifting. My aiming has moved better. Hope this helps somebody.
Actually, I had trouble with aiming last night…
Hadn’t played for months and months and thought maybe it was just from not playing for ages!
Have there been updates which have affected aiming mechanics?

No, to my knowledge nothing has changed unless you’ve been gone since before they allowed everyone to change vertical and horizontal sensitivity separately.

I have been gone for that long at least :’)
Not because I dislike playing, but because I can’t get connections anymore because the servers are a little bit -Yoink-.
Back when it was all working well I’d usually be in the top 3 or 4 on my team in WZ.

Yeah the servers can be bad. Welcome back, I’m glad to see another player rejoining the population.
Aiming is not so bad—the hit recognition is wonky due to server issues, lag, etc. This just makes determining what settings and play style work best for you due to the inconsistencies in landing hits. Most frustrating…

I believe campaign is offline, anyone know if there are aiming problems there?
I’ve managed to (mostly) fix it for myself. In Halo 1 - 4, Reach, and ODST, my comfort zone was at a 7 or 8 sensitivity (I now use a 10 in Reach, and it would probably be the same for the others too.). For Halo 5, due to there being less aim assist (I still wish we could disable it entirely), I’ve had to bump that down to a 6. For whatever reason, I’m not able to make the quick and snappy movements I did in the previous games, but aside from that, this setup makes it pretty much the same. My Setup
H. Sensitivity 6 - V. Sensitivity 6 - Aim Acceleration 5 - Inner Deadzones 0% - Outer Deadzones 0%

I’ve actually seen this posted before, it does explain some things but I really really hope they were not foolish enough to tie a core mechanic to unstable servers

For me the aiming in the beta was so much smoother
343i have come out and said they changed the aiming mechanic from the beta to what it is now
It’s the new mechanic itself that is the problem and no matter how many options and sub options they give us to tweak it, it’s not going to feel the same because it’s not the same, it’s different
Server lag for me. game to game my aim speeds up or slows down, Or I die before anyone Is near me and then they come around the corner. And I have had the Opposite happen.
Don’t think It’s on my side, 150mbps, 12.50mbps, 46ms Latency
