A little preorder advice from me to you. If you don’t care too much about cosmetics and you want the best bang for your buck, here’s what I have to say…
If you’re just getting the standard edition, I would go with the Microsoft Store. I haven’t seen anyone else on here talk about this, but when you preorder from the MS Store, you get a free $25 credit. I may not be crazy about the pulse armor skin which is included, but, how much does war games season pass cost? Answer: $25.
So, I preordered from MS and now I will use that free $25 to buy the season pass for 3 upcoming map packs (9 maps in total). The season pass also comes with a couple exclusive emblems (and maybe other stuff, someone fill me in if it comes with anything else).
If you really think about it, I am spending $60 for Halo 4, the exclusive Pulse armor skin, exclusive emblems, and 9 future DLC maps. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

Yes I am sure. Even if for some reason you can’t buy it directly from the store, you can buy MS points from the store and then use those to buy the season pass in the Xbox marketplace.

Yeah I just thought I would share it with people on here. I keep seeing topics about choosing where to preorder from and the MS store is never mentioned which is most likely because people either don’t know about the $25 credit or they are only looking at skins/emblems.

I knew you got a $25 dollar gift card for pre-ordering but it never occurred to me to use it to buy the War Games Pass.

30-buying the map packs ahead of time.
10-whatever s left… really the case and papers.
I’m just really disappointed that there really isn’t a real special edition for this game this time.

^^ Yea…-Yoink!- is lucky I’m too lazy to change my LE preorder.
But next time, I’m going to just go with the standard edition (Halo 5)

I think everyone should just try and look at it that way since at least you are spending your money on something real tangible instead of mere digital content that is already on your disk but locked.
I pre-ordered from the MS store 5 months ago because I knew about the gift card before anyone else. I’m so hipster. Actually I didn’t give a Yoink! about the gift card. I wanted the skin.
Meh, it’s not worth missing out on the Gamestop bonuses IMO. I can always buy the pass later anyways, which i have no problem doing.
That’s a pretty smart thing to do though OP. I don’t want to sound like i am taking anything away from that. Saving money is the way to go.

Those with the LE better hope that Briefing Packet is bulky and full of cool stuff. If it ends up being lightweight however…complaining incoming
SE buyers
-Wait for someone to upload bonus content and scenes from the EC for FuD ( an inevitably, it WILL happen). Plus, it’s coming out on Blueray too.

separate map pass is superior because it’s 25 bucks and comes with an emblem, two helmets (343 could have just made the pass exclusive to LE users, would have been better this way).
-
Prime skin for AR and Recruit has a high chance of being able to download later down the road (goes for a lot of pre content tbh).
-Specializations are unlocked on the 20th (but you still have to Reach SR-50).
- Don’t have to blow 100 bucks on the not so Limited Edition.
-Misses out on unique, steel casing.
