It’s killing Halo. And now some people will stop reading to reply how “stupid” I am.
This is how…
I was in a game yesterday.
12 of us in a group.
We got farmed and were sick of it, so we went off and just stayed in the back of our homebase.
We didn’t leave.
So the enemy hunted us down and didn’t attack our core.
The fireteam leader (who was streaming at the time) said this:
“The people who farm kills like this in warzone are sometimes the same people that say there isn’t enough social in Halo 5
and they aren’t fixing the problem”
He continued
“We’ve all played the game for a while, we know how to sneak out of homebase…but say you were a level 1, new to the game and you were getting farmed… you may think that this was how the game always played, and hate it. You might not understand the game because of what’s going on so you just quit…and don’t play again”
Those who farm in warzone ARE making players quit which IS ruining social.
Even some streamer (who’s name I will not mention) de-modded a twitch mod because they took out the enemy core, so they couldn’t farm…
And other streamers have things like an “11 minute rule” where they can do anything in 11 mins, but then MUST attack the core.
Even some of the big Spartan Companies refuse to farm commendations, they just play and core rush in 10 mins.
What am I trying to say?
We need to stop farming…
Just play the game, and you’ll get the commendations for a single set of armor for which the helmet looks daft anyway.
Lots of people have straight up said that the helmet looks dumb…
“But it will take longer to get the commendations without farming”
I don’t think 343 wanted people to get achilies in 3 months of it coming out…
I don’t think 343 wanted people to farm kills in warzone.
And honestly…farming kills, whether it be for farming commendations or stat boosting…It’s pathetic.

The sooner people understand they aren’t doing for commendations and Achilles, the better.
They are doing to pad their self esteem. Many times, I’ve encountered farmer on their own (I’ve played against them before when they were grouped)–and they can’t strafe or aim to save their life. They are terrible. So what do they do? Group up and farm kills to feel better. They already have Achilles. They just do it because the only way to feel good about themselves is to kill helpless casuals with 3 scorpions and banshees camped outside the enemy base.
Say what you like, justify it all you want, at the core of this issue is the self esteem problems these kill farmers clearly have. Why don’t you see these companies, who have already completed Achilles, play arena? I have never encountered them in arena? Oh that’s right…they can’t spawn items that give them an advantage, and it’s not full of casuals.

Regardless of why they’re doing it, it’s ruining the game and making new players leave.
People simultaneously want new players to stay, and yet they farm, making them leave.

Alright, I did not know that. Must have misunderstood their threads then…
But yes, armour is no reason to ruin the experience of hundreds, or thousands of players.
Its like queuing for FFA as a team of 5 or so and just killing the one random over and over. Back in Reach from memory this used to happen. Hell my friends and I did it on reach once just for fun. The guy we were killing just sat in the middle of the map and tea bagged. He sent us a friend request and we let him join our group. This sort of thing doesn’t happen anymore.
Edit- You obviously can’t do this in 5 as it has a party limit, of 1.
But its not the peoples fault, its 343’s for making the armour so damn hard to achieve if it was something that could be achieved in maybe 2 weeks for a full Spartan company where everyone plays at least 1 hour per day we wouldn’t have all these groups forming just to farm people, its not the peoples but 343s fault for creating such long and hard commendations.
I don’t play Warzone anymore. I used to love it, I’ve spent real money in REQ packs. It was casual fun of the sort that was not present in Arena, which I like for different reasons. But now, Warzone has became a Russian Roulette: you still have a good chance of having a good time, but at least once a day, you will be in one of those painful matches where your team is spawn-trapped and farmed for ten minutes. That’s the least fun experience I’ve ever had in a videogame, and even if it doesn’t happe all that often, that’s enough for me to want to avoid playing Warzone for the time being. I’ll still play Halo for Arena and custom matches with friends, but when I feel like chilling out in a casual and fun game, I’ll go play Rocket League.

I know, and I understand that. My company wants Achilles too. Are we kill farming? No. We are doing it normally, as we don’t want to ruin the game for others. There is no point farming all these people just for armour, they have no consideration. These people who get farmed cop bans due to quitting these matches, they might even stop playing halo 5 altogether. As far as you know, they may only have time for a match or two or warzone. A little consideration would help.

Just like any other game that I buy, I have the right to play it any way I choose. When you start buying my games for me I might consider playing differently. Otherwise keep whining in your corner like the hundreds of others on this forum and not make actual constructive posts to help the game developers out in making a better game.

You don’t have the right to exploit the game’s lack of an end time to farm kills though. And you most certainly do not have the right to not finish the game for a single armor set.
Ready Up Live’s Spartan Companies have become very strict on the farming, hell I wouldn’t be surprised if some people get kicked if they get caught doing it. We have no farmed once and guess what? We need 16 more commendations to unlock the body and they are all halfway through level 3/5 so we’ll be getting it very very soon. Not by farming. Not by being total jerks. By playing the damn game properly.

The following post is not arguing for or against farming (even though I’m against it). I just can’t help but notice that you are saying is completely false.
This is not your game. You do not own Halo 5. Nor did you buy Halo 5. You bought a license to play Halo 5. You do not have the right to play how you choose, you only have the rights that 343 gives you. This is why people can’t cheat or exploit, it’s literally a breach of contract. The only people that own Halo 5 are 343 industries and 343 industries’ parent companies (Yes, corporations are legal persons).

i agree that core spawn killing is ridiculous and something needs to be done about it… but there is nothing to do about it so i am fine with that.
every solution to this is some trash like a mercy rule… stop sucking and maybe people won’t complain as much about this stuff when it happens.
I have been on both ends of it: I have been spawn core killed, and I have core spawn killed. I can say with all honesty that getting core spawn killed sucks, and i also believe that core spawn killing is boring as hell. Padding stats, farming for a useless armor piece, yeah not fun at all. I have decided that i will never play on a 12 man team unless it is 12 of my irl friends, which will never happen. My point is, there is no good solution to this, for obvious reasons. So we are going to have to deal with it. My only solution to this that i can think of, that i’m not sure will even work and i am not to thrilled about it is: give achilles variants out in REQ packs, just like they are doing with that other armor piece.

Yeah but theres no proper way to play warzone. Its literally nonsense and completely lacks any form of gameplay depth. Why cry really? Do people actually care about warzone K/D? I like to think of warzone as like the ghetto of every gametype of any game. Just go in and do whatever you want because it doesnt even matter. sigh warzone… i dont get you people who take warzone seriously. SMH
