For those of you who have played Halo 4...

Please be completley honest, is it more like Halo 3 or Reach because i really hated Reach with a passion and i don’t want it to be the same way with Halo 4. I have watched EVERY gameplay video and it all looks amazing! I just have to know what it plays like more 3 or Reach? Thank you.

P.S.- I paid for LE edition in full at gamestop…i know we get recruit armor and the Prime weapon skin/armor skin but do the people who buy the limited edition Halo 4 console get that armor too? or just their Lotus i want all the armor but i’m sure as hell not buying a console for armor and a skin…

My friend played it and he said that it is a healthy dose of both. Most of the weapons and stuff feel like Halo 3, but the armor abilities and moving around kinda feels like Halo Reach. He said that he liked it a lot.

If you’re mad about Reach because of things like Sprint, AAs, loadouts, etc… You’ll probably hate Halo 4.

I don’t hate sprint/loadouts (was skeptical at first) but it grew on me…i really just have an issue with AAs.

Thats good news, i hope thank you for sharing that…

There are going to be Classic playlists with no AAs or Loadouts, it should bo OK for you.

343i is also doing their best to balance them with each other. Definitely at least try out the default playlists before jumping into classic. You might like what you find.

At RTX the game felt vibrant. Much like saying the best of both worlds. It didnt just copy and paste Reach’s AA’s and add new ones, they are relatively balanced, or atleast from my experience they felt that way. And theyve been rebalanced from what Ive seen, like the time for PV being used was nerfed and has a larger cooldown.

No Armor Lock, but it has a lot of others. I don’t really mind AAs so it doesn’t bother me, but I can see how it could become ridiculous again. There’s an autosentry, a force-field that knocks enemies back and heals you, jetpack, camo, hologram, Promethean Vision (which is time-limited wallhacks, essentially), as well as maybe a few others. They said there’s a classic playlist, but I don’t know how happy you’ll be spending $60 on one playlist you’ll enjoy.

I’m sure there will be, i played the classic playlists in Reach and have to stay they need a complete re-buff they gave us like 3 playlists then focused on everything else. I’m going to play everything though infinity slayer looks amazing, don’t even get me started about regicide, every time i saw gameplay of that i wanted to jump through the screen and grab a controller. So i really like all the fresh new gametypes and how armor abilites fit in with it.

Thats good, it looks like at Pax they completely toned down the scattershot it looked as if it couldn’t kill anything in the Pax build.

I haven’t played it, but I’ve heard from a lot of people that it’s kinda like Halo 3 but with Armor Abilities.

Very wrong. While I don’t love the way REACH implemented the abilities, Halo 4 executed them perfect.

OP, I played the game. I loved it. Initially, once you start you’ll automatically say “Oh wow this feels/looks just like HALO 3.” But later on you start to feel the REACHness of it due to the hit-scan, AA’s, etc…

It’s everything you loved about Halo 2-3, and its everything you hate about REACH, but much…MUCH, better.

and in regards to your AA hate. I can calm it down.

Hardlight Shield: Easily defeatable upclose. either circle around and sock em up because you move much faster than the shielder. mid-range- plant a nade right at their feet. They cant deactivate the shield quick enough for a quick get away. long-range: either a teammate will get them or you’ll have to deal.

thruster pack: used waaay more for a defensive front than anything. hitbox is a little lower, if not the same. used to dash behind cover more or less.

thats all i can remember from the COMI-CON build…

It looks fun alot of solid gameplay, the vehicles don’t look like card board and there are no copy and paste maps frpm campaign…

This is the comment i was waiting for! Thank you good sir, i trust its a great game.

Anyone know what the jump hight is like? Halo 3 or Reach?

From what I’ve seen in videos, it’s more like Halo 3’s than Reach’s.

But the jump seems faster and more fluid than halo 3’s floaty jump.

Halo 4 feels… Like its own thing yet still plays like halo. Imagine a fixed halo 3 version with fixed additions of reach and a few more things.

That’s because most of the footage only showed it being used on the king in Regicide who happened to have an overshield. The others instances were just a combination of being beyond effective range and bad aim on the shooter’s part. I’m sure it’ll still be plenty lethal in the final game.

Awesome, i heard that it was mostly like Halo 3 which is very good…but yeah Halo 4 has its own look and feel to it.
