He was beheaded by Hyperius and his helmet is now used as a Trophy for his kill. A Grunt mentions this over a propaganda tower if you can find it on Zeta Halo. Anybody feel like he was wasted too soon ?
I have not heard this line but damn it would have been sick to see a bunch of spartan helmets on hyperius’ chopper.
that said, it is a propaganda tower. i wouldnt be surprised if it is complete bull. it would be weird for 343 to kill him so soon. the propaganda talks about the spartans like there were hundreds of them on the ring, but we only see griffins team. I think those lines are just the grunt trying to freak out what few marines are left.
Having his helmet doesn’t mean Locke is dead. Douglas lost his helmet in Halo Wars 2 due to Atriox, and he wasn’t killed or beheaded – Atriox just doesn’t seem to care for trophies as much as some of his fellow Brutes.

No there’s a log saying that he and the rest of Osiris are off on their own thing plus it’s from a grunt you gonna believe a grunt that’s rather run the moment you look at him?
Plus it could be someone else that wore the hunter armor
So is Locke dead? No he’s alive and probably using gen 3

Apparently the voice line is only there when you have the IWHBYD skull on so I dunno
I thought that was Blue Team? Since one of the logs you hear Lasky undermine Halsey and relocate them to another mission since she was sending Chief to deploy the Weapon.
Regardless, I don’t doubt every propaganda broadcast is all lies. Considering the Grunt at one point says “Feeble humans, you may give up all hope now! Your great Savior is no more! That’s right, the Master Chief is dead and no one is coming to save you!” And pretty much every other line is pretty similar. In fact, the only line I’ve seen that had a lick of truth to it, was “So…someone’s going around destroying my propaganda towers. I mean, who does that? Am I right?”
I forget where but theres a log on the map that does say osiris is still active Locke included I havent found it myself but I doubt that Locke would still wear gen 2 hunter armor when gen 3 is the next thing for spartans
Yeah he strikes me as one of the first of the Spartan branch to probably make the upgrade once available, if a set can be made for him.
and I mean there proably was other spartans that wore the hunter armor in lore so thats probably what we’re seeing here another spartans hunter amor that or tremorinus found Lockes armor on the infinity took it and bragged that he killed him I mean he coulee done that for bragging rights

I wouldn’t doubt it, I’ve seen and heard Elites claim kills that Grunts did when people die in the campaign 
yeah like the grunts in ifnitne I cant put it into word of how funny they are like they took the funny form the past adn just cranked it up to 20

No he isn’t dead, There is a Audio Log that states he and Fire Team Osiris are off doing a separate mission away from Zeta Halo.

When you fight Hyperius with the IWHBYD Skull on, he states the following, “ Another Spartan? How wonderful, Spartan Locke, one of the UNSC finest must have not relayed the message to you… If I wanted it, You would be dead already “
“ I am merely toying with you Master Chief “
“ Spartan Locke fought well, but I spared him to send a message to the UNSC that no Spartan is a match for me, for the banished, for Escharum or for Atriox! “
“ Spartan Locke should have informed you of my title Demon, I am a Spartan Killer “
Those are just some of the lines he will sputter when fighting him with the skull active. But Locke is alive.
UNSC Audio Log states that Blue Team is on the planet Reach and in another Audio Log, it states that Osiris is deployed elsewhere.
With the IWHBYD Skull active, Marines will state the following
“ Hey Chief, why did Spartan Buck leave Osiris? “ This is a reference to a book where Buck chooses to leave Fireteam Osiris to be there for his family he still has. Either with Veronica Dare or with who remains of his old ODST squad.
“ Blue Team and Osiris are coming to our aid, right Chief? Or do they even know whats going on here on this ring world “
Fighting Chak Lok with IWHBYD Skull active, he states the following
“ Spartan Locke is on Spartan I would like to interrogate, I can only imagine what his puny brain conceals “
“ The Arbiter and I crossed blades, His helm now sits upon a mantle and his blade I now use to peal the flesh off of those who refuse to talk “
Those are just some of the few things I have found, prolong the fights with bosses and just stand around marines with the IWHBYD skull active and you will hear this stuff too.
When you beat Hyperius and examine his body, Lockes helmet does appear on his shoulder, again, it doesnt mean he is dead, it means Locke lost a fight.
That and when you beat Hyperius, you unlock the Achievement “ Brothers Grim “ Which the achievement art / image shows Lockes helmet on either Hyperius or Tovarus. But his helmet is there in game, just look at there bodies.

Said grunt is known for lying a lot about the banished.
I really hope Locke isn’t dead, I honestly hope he appears in the future alive and well.
Well, it’s nice to know he’s alive now, was thrown off entirely all together. I love the idea of the Banished being the next Covenant because they’re definitely no push overs like the Covies were.
