for the sake of Cannon leave DMR out of campaign

this isnt because i dont like the weapon(honestly i do but thats not the point) it’s because if you put it in campaign its going to be almost as bad a RETCON as what happened with Reach. because according to the information on the weapon on waypoint it had been taken out of all branches of the military except the armmy which is what spartan 3s are in and spartan 4s since a lot of them were spartan 3s.

so please no more retcons, that gun should not in any shape or form exist on that spaceship since it was for the marines. its bad enough its in multiplayer WITH the BR when its just the early version of it, just please dont put this in chiefs story

I don’t see the point of putting it in the campaign, but in Spartan Ops it would fit perfect.

It probably won’t be in the Campaiagn since we’ve only seen the BR.

It could easily be a newer version of the DMR that the UNSC now uses in 2557. And there was also no problem with the canon of Reach.

> It could easily be a newer version of the DMR that the UNSC now uses in 2557. And there was also no problem with the canon of Reach.

This.

Just because the model of the DMR that was seen in Reach was replaced by the BR, it doesn’t necessarily mean that a newer model (which we see in Halo 4) couldn’t have come along in the few years after Halo 3 to then appear in Halo 4.

Um, no. Otherwise for the sake of cannon, we should be able to put silencers on our weapons then?

OT: This would be just like how the AR and magnum disapears in Halo2 and the Br disapears in ODST and Reach, I do not see a big deal.

yes because master chief obveously has acces to a new UNSC weapons god and 343 knows how many miles from UNSC space on a ship that has weapons pre-2557

and Reach while it lines up it makes Keyes look like the stupidest tactician ever since at the point in the game when he left with cortana, reach was already lost and yet he deployed all of the spartanns to the ground. or if it was during the battle (not sure which) he sent in spartans to the planet in a pelican when he knew he would be landing soon as well. their is no logic at all to that decision and making them do that instead of just having them leave in pelican once they landed. to me that kills cannon since keyes is supposed to be one of the best captains in the navy

and their is still one thing that dosent line up and thats chief being in cryo when the ship took off. and dont even try the stupid “its an easter egg” excuse because its just a hidden thing that isnt making any outside refrence to anything out of the halo game.

But it was an easter egg…

First highlight: Just in case you didn’t know. MC is in the cryo at the end because they made the slipspace jump from Reach. You obviously haven’t played Halo:CE

Second highlight: You do know the UNSC IS landing on the Forerunner shieldworld right? As to why we saw UNSC frigates in the Concept Art trailer a few months back? So, they could have issued a new model of the DMR. You never know.

You shall know what Infinity means.

The DMR was a prototype weapon used by the UNSC Army, which is why we didn’t see it in Halo CE, 2 and 3/ODST/Wars.

There is every reason for it to become an actual weapon by 2557.

its like 4 years later im sure the navy and marine corps saw fit to add their own slightly modified version of the DMR series to their selection…

Weasel

Just a small pet peeve of mine, use the correct version of canon. A cannon is something that would have killed you in the 1700’s.

chief is COMPLETELY cut off from the UNSC their is no reason that a DMR would be on his spaceship from 2552

Until the UNSC Infinity comes around with fresh weaponry and bodies in tow. And it’s canon, not cannon.

The M392 Designated Marksman Rifle was largely superseded by the BR55 after it’s introduction in 2548, especially with the introduction of the heavy-barreled varient. However, this does not mean the DMR was taken out of service completely. In addition, Halo 4’s BR will be a new varient, not the same seen in Halo Reach, much like the BR in Halo 4 will be the BR85HB SR instead of the BR55HB SR seen in Halo 3, or the BR55 seen in Halo 2.

But there happens to be a grenade launcher pistol on the ship? Besides when the Master Chief encounters the Infinity i’m sure they’ll give him some new tech like the DMR

There could be prototypes lying around the Foward onto Dawn(thats the ship MC is currently located in the end of Halo 3).
