For the Love of Halo, Please Change

343i,

We’ve given your divisional rankings nearly three months of playtime. This method of ranking and matching players is absolutely ridiculous. You’ve rendered people that go in independently cemented in certain divisions forever. Whatever the division, the player that goes into arena without a team cannot advance past a certain level. Professional players aside (perhaps), I doubt anyone could reach the division above what they have been placed into without playing with people they know (three other people, it would seem). Progress is slow. Even getting de-ranked is slow. It seems as if we play the game over and over without any actual indication of our progress. I highly suggest bringing back a ranking system (and matchmaking algorithm) closer to that of Halo 2 & 3. You might even place the Onyx and Champion divisions after the rank of 50, so those who reach the max can continue progressing against their opponents. It seems, in the current system of rank, that nearly everyone is in the higher tiers of gold, platinum, and diamond. As a diamond and onyx player (somehow I have been lucky enough to get those divisions without a team), it seems like I get matched with teammates that are the equivalent of level 30s in Halo 3. I remember the days of Halo 2 & 3 when I would log on every day and either see progress (sometimes upwards of ten ranks) from my ranking, or I would derank and be motivated to get back where I was the day before. It appears like Halo 5’s ranking system is stagnant, that players are destined to float between a few different divisional rankings forever. Please consider a return to the traditional, varied 1-50 rankings, perhaps with extra divisions after the rank of 50.

Also, not to be callous, but who the h*** was drunk when Overgrowth was thought to be a good idea? Not only is the map itself the single worst multiplayer map in Halo history (… even over Backwash or Orbital), but it’s glitch-ridden. People get outside the map all the time. It’s miserable. Please delete or implement a veto system.

That’s what happens when the game isn’t rated “M” anymore.

The 50 ranking system relied souly on if you win or lose the mach which still screwed over people that played individually.

Halo should have never really been rated M in the first place. Really when you look at the games, nothing has really changed, gore has damped a little but not a major amount that a rating should have dropped. Halo has always possessed the content that calls for a T rating (violence, mild language, etc) the only real reason it was M before was because cortana was naked and even then thats pushing it.

This isn’t true. It was also based on your performance. You could lose a match but hardly lose any experience on your progress bar.

Exactly this for team games. It is way too slow in ranking people up or down once they are in a division. And Overgrowth as a ffa map is diabolical. It is the biggest game of chance out there. Probably more skill in winning the lottery than winning ffa on that map!
