That maybe true about speed but in not decision making. The ablities gave you faster decision making to make plays that you can’t do in infinite
Even on flat ground it gives you a boost. A very small one. Either way my point still stands. When you are trying to shoot someone you cant do any advanced movement aside from bouncing.
As a controller player, I prefer it the way it is. With aim assist on controller there has to be a way to out duel other controller players. I get it, it sucks when you’re a skilled MnK player facing off against a skilled controller player. The controller player is going to win the majority of those 1v1’s simply because it is harder to consistently aim with zero (or minimal) aim assist.
Unfortunately aim assist is necessary on controller as a QoL enhancement. Rather than altering strafe acceleration I would rather just have less aim assist on the BR. It’s really the worst offender, and is the starting weapon in ranked.
Less aim assist would make the strafing worse. It will be harder to hit shots. I think the BR is easy to use for sure but this is not the fix. It’ll become more frustrating than anything.
1617 isn’t anywhere near mid onyx… And to downplay how important winning a duel is, is disingenuous at best.
That I do agree with. 1v1s are crucial. If anything it’s mandatory that you have this skill
And 1v1s happen in every match. Even high level pro play and they can make all the difference. If you can’t win your 1v1s (or at least have the potential to win them) then you can’t compete at the highest levels.
Mid 1600s is dead center of onyx player/CSR distribution, anything over 1800 is high onyx, I’m 1631 on my alt, I don’t even think it’s that great. I’m not satisfied with it. But I didn’t get my CSR because I’m a 1v1 piv god. And I’m not saying they are not important at times and necessary. There are high level +2000 CSR mnk players. But to attribute an inability to rank up because of your input is a dead debate. It needs to end. If you’re unhappy with your input, switch.
I do agree with this, H5 movement and map design was on another level that I don’t infinite will ever get to
Oh yeah. Nothing beats thrusting from lamp post to lamp post in the map plaza like a parkour god
Roughly 60%, according to halo tracker, of all Onyx players are sub 1700, CSR to player distribution represents the tiers within onyx, not your CSR elo rating
If I was just talking about ranking up then ok it would be a dead debate. A good M&K player with 3 really good controller players could definitely rank up into 2000+ I’m sure of it.
But that’s not what I’m talking about. I want to see M&K be able to win 1v1s against controller players. I want to see M&K be able to compete at the highest levels. So until I see a M&K player win an HCS tournament (or hell, get even 2nd or 3rd or 4th or 8th for that matter), controller vs M&K is not a dead debate.
Mnk will never reach the top.
For one a lot of Halo players have been playing Halo with a controller for over a decade. A lot of movement is hard baked into these players. I’m one of them.
You can’t move diagonally. The w.a.s.d is not the same as a stick.
Finally the aim assist. Even if it’s reduced it will still be there. An advantage that will be forever over Mnk.
Halo is a controller game through and through. Nothing will ever change that.
Mnk should be facing and competing against eachother. They should have their own HCS too
I absolutely agree. But most controller players would rather argue that Aim Assist isn’t an absolute advantage and that M&K just need to git gud.
The ability to run halo matchmaking with controller players is a brand new feature of halo. They are competing against players that have been grinding halo for 10-20 years. Most mnk players are new to halo at his level of play. There will be an adjustment period, of course a mnk player will not be able to immediately jump into a pro comp scene. The debate against aim assist is dead in the sense that it has less to do with input superiority and more to do with player tenure. That’s what my previous points were regarding core fundamentals of halo. I would even argue that if mnk players had the same aim assist that controller players did, there would not be much change in the CSR distribution. I’m actually all for giving aim assist to mnk, bring it on. I don’t think it would change much however.
I agree with this too, they need to be separated
This is perfect, totally agree
I personally don’t like aim assist. I’m a huge fan of pubg for it’s lack of aim assist. If controller players could play there without it they can definitely play here without it but thatll never happen.
Na. Mnk don’t need to get good. It’s worlds apart. Mnk shouldn’t have to make up for aim assist. They should just be playing against other Mnk
What’s with people thinking I want aim assist gone. I don’t I just want inertia on direction changes similar to the older values. The maximum speed of strafing and the cheat codes controller players use can stay. Upping the inertia value doesn’t change anything for controller players since they already have no issues perfecting constantly in BR duels. It just allows M&K to fight back.
“Cheat codes” lol come on bro
