Halo is my favorite videogame franchise of all time so please this is not a troll thread.

I want to know how or if you enjoy playing this so called Halo game?

One things that’s sad is that Halo 3 had over 500,000 players constantly playing for over a year and you know what. Halo 4 has has about 30-50,000 players on average only a couple of months after it was released. So I know many of you must feel how I do.

In my opinion(I know many of you will disagree)Everything that 343 industries has done to Halo has been terrible.(besides the graphics) The campaign of Halo 4 was very mediocre. For one the new design for chiefs armor wasn’t bad, but how in the hell does his armor change while hes in cryosleep? For someone who has read the Books the story was just so bad in 4. The forunners/Prometheans were a terrible foe to fight and wasn’t even that interesting to fight. I can go on but I’ll stop there on the campaign.

The replay-ability just isn’t there compared to previous Halo campaigns.

The multiplayer was changed so much from what the original formula was that it is comparable to how the Call of Duty multiplayer is. (And I hate COD :{ ) They todally screwed up the feel of Halo. Now its not all 343’s fault, Bungie screwed up with the multiplayer in Halo reach and they just draged the terrible things like the armor abilities and sprinting.(sprintings not to bad, I just don’t like it) The DMR should have been taken out but all the MLG babies would of cried.(Long live the BR) And again I can go on but Ill stop.

I love Halo and hate to see were my favorite franchise is going. But I have to say the final straw was at this years E3 and that giant OWL made me go WTF…

I almost forgot that The armor also looks stupid for the new “spartan 4’s”

For me, it’s because frankly I don’t see anything wrong with Halo 4 (Sans the super-mongooses).

I turn on my xbox, put the disc in, and start playing. Easy as that.

I miss Halo 2,3 gameplay.

I’ll be honest, I’ve only played about 1300 Halo 3 games, 1100 Halo: Reach games and 1200 Halo 4 games before I ended up playing something else.

> I miss Halo 2,3 gameplay.

You and most others.

i agree except for when you said “removing the DMR would make the MLG cry babies whine” and then contradict yourself saying you miss older halos. FYI the MLG weapon is the BR so your saying your an old halo fan i beleive your lying sir.

Interesting storyline (when Palmer is quiet), Spartan Ops (when Palmer is quiet), Loadouts, graphics, multiplayer being canon, Forerunner weapons, new weapons, gameplay that feels more powerful than previous games, it ties in with the books more than past games, weapon skins, and 343 Industries finally learning how to do armor DLC. Also 343i being willing to try new gameplay elements with this game, indicating that they’re willing to try new things rather than just reskin the previous game like Treyarch and Infinity Ward, which I think is important even if the experiments don’t work out too well.

Oh, and despite popular opinion, it’s fun.

@Mr Kurbb Stompp I’m talking about present not past MLG

Don’t look at the population. You don’t play because the player count is low. If you don’t play the player count even lower! That’s a flawed logic! The game is still playable even if only a handful of players play it.

Like Crysis 2. Not more than 20 players I found there and every time I play the game (2 years from now) I only played with them. It was bad? Absolutely not.

Do not watch player count, just start the game, start searching for a game then play. Halo 3 isn’t much better with the 3000-5000 players but those are still playing. How? They don’t give a flying f(word) about population.

Also, 343 did not f(word) up Halo. This is their beginning, they need to start it somewhere and to be honest, they made a pretty good game for the first time. They can made it even better, Halo 4 is an unpolished diamond which is only can shine if we support them.

You know there are people that like reach and h4’s game play style

> You know there are people that like reach and h4’s game play style

Yeah but they’re in the minority

No, they messed it up. They apologized for it.

I play it because I barely lose, because I wanted a challenge, because I can beat what everyone is using with the unusual, because I can start with some of my favorite weapons, because I love messing with peeps playing styles, because I love trying new things, because I’m not afraid of change, because of the commendations, because I have larger maps to forge on, because I’m a quick learner in any game, because I can adjust my style, because I succeed in matches, because I have teammates, because of the TU, because I love this game just like the other Halos, because I believe Halo is not dead.

Yeah, this only explains a small part of the reasons why I can play this game.

I play it almost everyday. HALO is far from over, 5 and 6 are going to be flat out amazing, mark my words.

Also, Spielberg is on the scene now, don’t forget.

sorry but you know nothing about halo so please leave and delete this thread

Population means nothing.

I live in the UK and when I get up in the morning on the weekends, there can be as little as 50-150 people playing a SpOps mission, but I can still get a game in decent time.

If I recall, the number shown in Halo 3 was ‘Unique Players in the last 24 hours’, not total number of players playing at this moment.
Did you ever go through the play lists and add up the population of each, it never totaled the Unique Players number.

I play it the least amount of any Halo to date. Truthfully I only play it because it says Halo on the box and to me that has always meant this is where the real competitive FPS action lies. I like that they tried to reinvigorate Halo with new ideas that truthfully weren’t that farfetched within the universe. Things like personal ordinance sounds fantastic on paper. It fits into Halo better than the traditional CoD killstreak rewards and it isn’t overpowered due to it being a roll of the dice on what you receive. In motion however it doesn’t play like Halo should play. They took a chance to try to bring in some of the CoD crowd and in turn alienated and lost some die hard fans. Hopefully lesson learned.

I’ve also read all the books and agree the campaign was a little strange and meh but I look at it as the first step in a long journey. Prometheans were dumb tough. I don’t like hardy any of the design work for the game. Graphics are amazing but the covenant looks utterly stupid, Prometheans just strange, and the Spartans look like robots and nothing like the Spartans of legend like Reach portrayed so well with its styles. Also the Spartans aren’t the quiet battle ready warriors as they were portrayed throughout the rest of the series. Someone classified them best in another post with something along the lines of whiny frat boys in armor.

For replay value I think the best approach would be to go the Reach route so people keep getting visual goodies that have no impact on the balance of the game. With a bar set so high it take years to reach like inheritor did. At the same time, have ranked and social playlists with the 1-50 we all want so much (displayed in game!) I won’t comment on the absurdity of leaving out firefight and all the fun types it brought but I spent countless hours on Reach just mowing down waves of enemies for mix it up.

As for the Reach ruining the series argument, I will never understand it. People claim they ruined Halo and that armor abilities didn’t fit into Halo but if you go back to Halo 2, perhaps the most loved game of the entire series, the arbiter has the cloak armor ability in the exact way it appeared in Reach. Aside from armor lock being overpowered, Reach was hands down the exact way Halo multiplayer should have evolved. Halo 4 went overboard with the support upgrades and whatnot. I hope 343 can get it right next time around with gameplay, fiction, and design. Otherwise this series I’ve put so much dedication and time into may as well not be Halo anymore and called something else entirely.

Dear whiners.

I don`t understand your logic. If you miss Halo 3 just go and play it.

Lets imagine 343i actions. They read forum. Whines, whines, whines… OK. Then they look at Halo 3 multiplayer statistics and what do they see? No so called repopulation. Can you guess their resume? Whiners are in the minority.

Just do something to draw 343i attention. Now Halo 3 multiplayer population is something about 6000-9000. Just make it grow and maybe 343i will hear you.

I’ve almost completely lost interest in Halo 4 to be honest. I just got tired of the same old DMR spamming, power weapon hogging morons out there who never fail to annoy me. Even the weapons tuning wasn’t enough to keep me playing. The fact that they mixed around the vehicle layout for most of the maps just buzzes me off to the max. It also leaves my $40 Halo 4 strategy quide completely useless.

I think I’ll be playing Blops 2 Zombies for a while to come. I might regain interest in Halo 4 once the Championship Bundle is released but I doubt it’ll keep me playing for very long.
