The friggin’ BoltShot. Oh my goodness. That thing. It needs to at least not be a starting weapon.
I can’t go around corners without being sprinted at/blasted in the face.
If I don’t go around the corners they just wait.
If I 'nade them, they sprint in the other direction with their tails between their legs.
If I leave them be, they chuck as many grenades as they can at me.
I can’t even attempt to take on 2-3 people at a time because they all whip out their insta-kill shotgun pistol they spawn with.
What’s the deal? Why was this ever a good idea?
I mean, I could maybe understand if it was like the H3 Mauler, where you’d have to pull a shoot punch combo for the insta-kill, but no. A quick Pro-Vision/charge up and you’re eff’d no matter what.
The only counter is to have a BoltShot of your own and hope you hit them first.
Is there any way we can start a petition or something to have this weapon at least be made an ordinance drop? Or something?
It has two charge shots before it reloads, correct? Just make it so it takes two charge shots to kill an enemy. One to take down shields, one for the kill. This was the way the mauler was (2 shots) if you didnt duel wield it, and it ended up balancing very well.
Do this instead of taking it out of classes, and you wont get any noobs -Yoinking!- that their favorite campy gun is gone.
Make it so you have to charge twice, and so that you can get two shots off as quick as someone can pop off 5 shots with the DMR.
I would be completely okay with that. Or if one burst popped just shields. I’d be fine with that.
I personally would like if the boltshot’s single shots were able to kill someone in one clip, as I have yet to kill anyone with less than a clip/1-2 shots.
i do use the boltshot for the commendation, and from my point of view, its a stupid weapon, to overpowered, basicly a shotgun
people say its okay, because its charged…not true
if you are about hit full charge, you tap Y before it fires, and just keep doing that till you can hit someone, as someone who has found ways to use this weapon effectivly, its to good, i think its a good idea to keep it as a loudout, just needs a nerf of some kind
I really don’t care if they nerf this or not because I don’t like the gun, but I’ve taken to checking people’s stats on how often they are killed by this thing and the reality is that it’s fairly rare for people to be killed by it. The numbers just don’t bear out what people are complaining about. To read these forums you would think that people can barely play because its just a bolt shot killing frenzy out there. And then, you go look them up and they’ve been killed 15 times in a hundred games by it. I think it’s safe to say that this weapon has a psychological impact far beyond its actual efficacy. Somebody please post an actual gamertag where their deaths from bolt shot outnumber their deaths from melee (and they’ve played more than 50 games).
I hardly ever get killed by it, honestly it’s not that bad. I tried using it and it’s not overpowered in the slightest. If someone is foolish enough to run around corners without looking, they deserve to be blasted.
I hope we get a rocket launcher as a secondary and watch everyone say it’s fine, i don’t get killed by it xD. I swear, that’s what its going to come down to
Meh, i think the Boltshot needs to be nerfed and i not only do not get killed by it often; I abuse it!
However, these Boltshot debates never really go anywhere. It’s not OP! Its OP! etc.
1. Buff the Single Fire damage. 2. Change the Alternate Fire:
Charging up the Boltshot causes it to fire the entirety of its clip in very rapid succession. This allows for a very fast (but not instant) killing time at the cost of requiring very good tracking aim.
It just gets overly abused. With combination of advantages of being able to see through walls and camp makes it unenjoyable to attempt to scoop up that kill.
