In Halo 4, for the first time Since Halo 2, we will more than likely be left scratching our heads at the end of the story as to what is going to happen next.
Halo 3 did leave us with kind of the same thing however for all we knew, there was going to be no Halo 4 at the the end of Halo 3.
Now that we have 5 and 6 to look forward to are you looking forward to asking some questions about the story after the ending, or are you dreading it?
I am really intrigued how Cortana’s role will play out through the series. Will 343 keep her around for Halo 5 and 6? Or will she succumb to her rampancy? Personally, I have always loved Cortana, but I really think it would add to the intensity and drama if she died at the end of Halo 4, or possible Halo 5.

I personally think that she will have something to do with the ending of Halo 4, and as 5 she will possibly be killed off and then 6 Chief do something to save humanity however also losing his own life.

Personally i can’t wait for this feeling again…
I actually think Chief’s legacy will be handed to another Spartan in the end of Halo 5.

If Halo 3’s ending was a scream, Halo 2’s was an alien invasion! Oh wait…

Thinking about it, it might be possible for ODST the Rookie to be a spartan IV. he might play are role in the trilogy.

The Rookie is a mute, he’d be a liability.

Why do so many people think she should die so early? She is the second most main character in the entire Halo universe, you really think shell die in the first game of the new trilogy?
If she does die, it should be late Halo5, or sometime in Halo6. If she does die in Halo5, then chief should experience some kind of essence of Cortana still being there even though shes not, or maybe somehow she is still there(would make an interesting twist).
Never thought of that. I haven’t ever really experienced that, then, with Halo; I came in with Halo 3’s release, beating the first two a couple weeks before it came out. Then Halo Wars, ODST and Reach were self-contained. This should be fun!
As for Cortana, I’m thinking a couple of things: Either she’ll get mended by Halsey or a Forerunner/Ancilla, she’ll achieve metastability (which is basically surviving rampancy and restabilizing) or [Cryptum spoiler] she and Medicant Bias will merge into one entity like Bornstellar/Didact.Having a hard time imagining them letting her die, but… maybe. Would certainly surprise me. But if they do kill her, please, no ‘lingering trace’ excuse for bringing her back/having her stay.

It’s part of Halo:Silentium’s official description on Amazon, official description here on Waypoint and people have been talking about there being two Didacts for quite while now. It’s obvious we were meant to know of this in advance so quit whining.
I haven’t started reading the Forerunner saga yet. I go on the Halo4 forums every day for hours and haven’t heard anything about two Didacts, or two people merging till now.
Its not that hard to make a spoiler button.
But it isn’t a spoiler.
I’ve got a very strong feeling in my gut that neither Cortana or John is going to die in this trilogy. I’ve got a really good ending to Halo, that just popped into my head but I’m not gonna say it.

Not everyone is reading into things like we are Decepticon. Put a spoiler tag on things, even if you know it to be common knowledge about the Halo Lore outside of the games in this section, that is for the Halo Universe section more then the Halo 4 one.
As for your topic opener OP, I think I’ll be craving the next Halo game, but then again, I’m going to be studying up and down in the campaign and other places to make sure I’ve got as much information about what the future Halo games could encompass, so I’ll be per-occupied for quite some time.

Cryptum came out last year and Primordium came out in January of this year, after a period of 5 months or more, I fail to see why spoiler tags are necessary. If you haven’t read the books yet, that is on you. I’ve been posting without the spoiler tag for months now and nobody has complained about me saying those book’s details.
