FOR SANGHELIOS! *SPOILERS*

One thing I liked in this campaign, despite its flaws, is the portrayal of the Arbiter.

Such a badass. Kicks butt left and right, makes epic speeches, roars fiercely in battle and takes orders from nobody. He serves the interests of his people in priority.

He seems fiercer than in Halo 2 and 3, but I think that’s because he had been in a civil war for a long time by the point we help him end the war. He just seems to be in ‘‘WARMODE’’ and ‘‘POLITICAL LEADER MODE’’. Let’s not forget this guy had been the supreme commander of the Covenant before his destitution by the Prophets. Overall, Arbiter feels alpha as hell.

And on top of all of this, he did not forget the Master Chief, asking Locke to say hi to him for him when he find him. Such a homie. A bit unfortunate that we didn’t see them exchange a nod or a few words in the ending. But hey, they’re reunited now!

My favorite quote from him : ‘‘Hunt them to the last. Today we extinguish the Covenant’s light, FOREVER!!!’’

What did you think of the Arbiter in Halo 5?

Arbitar is BAD–Yoink- in this game.

Arbiter is a great character overall but I do not enjoy him. He has killed millions of humans and then eventually sides with humanity after realizing the truth of the Halo rings. He does not seem to be affected by the innocents he has murdered and just buddies up with humanity like nothing has happened. Personally, I would have murdered him if I was in the Halo universe.

Arbiter had been living in doubt for a long time, but had no concrete proof of the errors of the Covenant until Halo 2. He had lived a life under the indoctrination of the Covenant. For him to realize the errors of his ways, and turn agaisn’t the leaders of the Covenant ideology, was quite courageous.

He seeks to amend for his errors. Yes he has killed millions of humans…But what good would it do to continue killing humans without reason? His people can’t wage a total war agaisn’t humanity. Out of the question. Not only is it wrong in regards to the lies of the Covenant, but it would be too difficult, and would serve no purpose.

In Halo 5, he is in warmode, he can’t really show his more subtle side, because he has to lead people into battle. I still believe he regrets his actions as supreme commander of the Covenant.

I think Locke should have went through with assassinating him.

Arbiter was awesome, would like at side story for him and the Civil war or something along those lines, leading up to that point.
Would be pretty cool

Loved him, but no playable elites = no purchase. Though the fact I’d never want to own an xbone helps in my decision not to purchase. Perhaps Halo Online has some glimmer of hope…

yesssssss

Does anybody think the Arbiter’s voice sounds different in this game? When he speaks it sounds clearer like I imagine the voice actor talking not him. I felt like in halo 2 and 3 he had more of the lower bass resonating voice. I don’t know how to explain clearly I was just curious if anyone else noticed it.

Same voice actor. Keith David.

But you know through a game, in which he’s not the main character they can’t show that. That’s why I would like a book about him or probably - I hope - in the Shadow of intent book, he’ll appear and show us how Arbiter regret his actions against Humanity, and feel sorry for the millions of dead.

He was brainwashed into doing so. From his youth he and millions of other covenant were tought to obey the covenant and the prophets without question. So he did as they said because the covenant considerd humans filthy.

He has realized his mistake and has changed.
He led the assault against the Covenant, and killed Truth.

It doesn’t mean that since he slaughterd millions that he should be killed. If someone has changed and has realized their mistake then their is no need for punishment.

There is a need for punishment. If I mistakenly run a red light or break the speed limit and end up getting pulled over, do you think they will let me go unpunished if I say, “My bad. I just made a mistake that’s all. Didn’t know what was up.” And this is just a minor incident. The Arbiter killed over a billion people, according to the Halo 2 terminals. Why should he just be unpunished? Locke should have still assassinated him.

He had the nerve to be in his feelings because Locke recommended assassinating him. I love the Arbiter, but given his military history, I’m sure most of us would’ve wanted to kill him too.

I agree to an extent (Arbiter is one of my favorite characters and I don’t want him to get assassinated). What he did shouldn’t be forgiven because he said “lol oops, my bad.” Any being of honor (such as the arbiter) should at the very least answer for his crimes. Helping humanity win the war isn’t enough for the millions of lives he took as the enemy.

AncientSumer totally agree with you =)

No he shouldn’t have!
Thel Vadam is now Kaidon of Sanghelios and leader of all the Sangheli. Yeah go ahead and order Locke to kill a leader which would ignite a war.

Also it isn’t for us to decide, his culture and race are very different then ours. We have no right to give him punishment for something that he was blinded into doing.
As for your analogy, the person knowingly crosses the light. Thel didn’t know what he was doing was a waste and completely wrong.
Besides if you were him, would you have disobeyed your gods and not killed the humans?
A good example would be this: someone is mind controlled (yes I know not realistic) and commits a murder, it has been proven that he was mind controlled, do you think he should face punishment or the master mind behind all of it?

Truth was the master mind, he knew what he was doing was wrong and a waste of lives, and he faced his punishment by the very person who bowed down to him.

Now if I was living in 2552, I would agree with you, but I’m judging through a non biased view.

He takes the Warden on with nothing but his little energy sword. Nuff said lol.

Helping humanity win the war isn’t enough for the millions of lives he took as the enemy.

Since learning of the prophets lies he has allied with humanity and helped save it along with his own race in Halo 3, then proceeded to maintain an allegiance with humanity despite the cost of sending his race into a civil war, and then continues to maintain that allegiance with humanity through said civil war where he finally eliminates the remnants of the covenant (and that is also after discovering one Mr. Jameson Locke suggested assassinating him…which I am SO glad they put in the game). How many lives to you think he, in the end, saved? He took a path of recompense. His past actions should not be forgotten, but they, IMO, should be forgiven. He could have just avoided civil war and agreed with the M’dama keep and eliminated what remained of a weakened UNSC that was absent its greatest warrior. But, he didn’t.

Arbiter deserves an own Game. Hell I thought he couldn’t be more badass but I was wrong!!!
Love this character SO MUCH.
Definitely Warmode, Politic leader mode and BEAST MODE!!
